130+ Miles For Yorkshire Disability Cricket

Players, coaches and family members are taking on an incredible challenge, walking from Headingley Stadium to Scarborough Cricket Club from Sunday 23 August to Thursday 27 August.

The route has been extended to over 130 miles, with detours to visit local cricket clubs along the way.

Head Coach Mark Sugden is raising £2,500 for Friends of Yorkshire Disability County Cricket Club, helping support winter training, summer coaching, tour opportunities and essential equipment for players with physical, deaf and learning disabilities.

We’re delighted to welcome England Women’s Head Coach Charlotte Edwards as a special guest at our upcoming Girls in Cricket event at Castleford Cricket Club!

The latest Honours Boards are in! 🏏

Another brilliant showcase of recreational cricket across Yorkshire, with players from clubs across the county earning their place on this week’s boards.

🌟 13th Aug – 19th Aug
Jodha Singh from Nostell St Oswald CC led the batting honours with an outstanding 216.

Jerin Varghese from Waverley CC topped the bowling board with excellent figures of 8-6.

Cricket for everyone 🏏

The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation supported Disability Sport Yorkshire on Wednesday for their holiday provision through Enjoy Cricket.

It was a brilliant morning filled with big hits, plenty of smiles and lots of support as everyone got involved and enjoyed the game!

YCF coaches led the session, creating such a positive and enjoyable experience. 🙌

We’re looking forward to continuing our work with Disability Sport Yorkshire and getting even more people enjoying cricket. 💙

Girls’ Cricket Festival at Ampleforth 💙

Get involved in a morning of softball cricket at Ampleforth on Wednesday 26 August from 9am - 10:30am, designed to give girls of all abilities the chance to enjoy the game, meet new people and experience the excitement of festival cricket!

The latest Honours Boards are here 🏏

And there's a fantastic story behind one of this week's standout performances…

14-year-old Max Coulson took an incredible 7-25 for Calverley Cricket Club against Old Monk Mavericks in just his 4th senior game!

That performance sees Max feature on this week's bowling honours board, and is a brilliant example of the talent coming through Yorkshire's recreational game.

Batting - Shamraiz Arshad of Pannal Ash CC takes the top spot with an impressive 193.

Bowling - Kian Phillipson of Clayton CC leads the way with outstanding figures of 9-26.

A fantastic day at Headingley 🏏

Yorkshire D40 secured an impressive 70-run victory over Sussex D40 yesterday in a brilliant Disability Fixture.

Yorkshire posted 296-4 from 40 overs, with standout performances from:
- Curtis Sugden – 100*
- Daniyal Zaman – 81
- Jack Thornton – 56*

Sussex were bowled out for 226 in 39.2 overs, with Yorkshire’s bowlers leading the way:
- Jasper Spooner – 4/38
- Cameron Cooper – 2/19

A terrific game played in great spirit, with commitment, sportsmanship and talent shining through from both teams showcasing the very best of disability sport. 👏💙

The last set of delayed Honours Boards are finally in! 🏏

Another brilliant week of recreational cricket across Yorkshire, with players from clubs throughout the county earning their place among the week’s top performers.

🌟 9th – 15th Jul

Prince Patel from Meltham CC topped the batting board with an outstanding 194.

Freddie Fortis from Moorlands CC led the bowling honours with impressive figures of 8-14.
