Well... This is it! Our final event of the year is here. Congratulations to all members for finishing your exams! Game Night X is LXRS' 25/26 capstone event to celebrate the academic year - both your achievements as members and LXRS' as a society.

It will run from 6pm-8pm tomorrow on Tueday 9th of June at HELIX, and we will have singleplayer and multiplayer games available (no Omnideck, unfortunately).

Come to HELIX today (apologies for the late notice) from 6PM - 8PM for our ninth Game Night, an evening of VR gaming and socialising! We'll have singleplayer games, multiplayer games, and even the Omnideck! The latter is an infinite treadmill, so you can walk in real life to walk in VR and you won't bump into anything.

You will need a membership to participate, but memberships are completely free and only take a second to grab (link in bio!)

⚠️ LXRS NEEDS YOU TO SURVIVE AS A SOCIETY!! ⚠️

Nominations are now open for LXRS' 2026/2027 committee! They close 16 days from now, with a 48 hour election period after that.

We have the three core roles available (President, Secretary, and Treasurer) - these NEED to be filled in order for LXRS to exist in 2026/27. We strongly urge all members to consider running, as it's a unique experience that you won't want to miss out on - it also looks great on your CV!

All three roles call for people who are enthusiastic about XR and are willing to help run events. You can nominate yourself at the link below, or in our bio. Thank you!

Come to HELIX on the 28th of April from 6PM - 8PM for a special event! At the beginning, we will have a talk about the future of LXRS from a committee standpoint. We invite all members, especially those considering a committee position next year, to come along to see what it's all about. It's easy to be a committee member, and it looks great on your CV too! We will be sharing a post with exact details soon, so make sure to follow so you don't miss that!

In addition, for the rest of the session, we will be hosting an evening of VR gaming and socialising! We will have a variety of games on offer - singleplayer, multiplayer, and the Omnideck!

LXRS invites you to our first collab of the year with LUUCaS (the Caving Society)‼️

Come to HELIX tomorrow on Wednesday the 18th of March 6PM-8PM for a VR gaming session featuring a brand new experience: Cave Crave! This game lets you explore caves in VR - both fictional and real ones like the Nutty Putty Cave and more. We will also have our regular games available too (except for the Omnideck).

Geek Night is back on Saturday 7th of February from 8:30PM - 2:00AM at LUU Pyramid Canteen and Theatre!!

ℹ️ NOTICE: The entire LXRS committee (all 3 of us) will be absent for this event.

This is a GeekSoc event, meaning all Geek societies are taking part, including LXRS! It's a themed club night (this semester's theme is Creature Feature) featuring lots of fun, including:
- Themed drinks (make sure to get LXRS’ themed drink, the SUPERSHOT!!)
- Live DJ sets
- Cosplay Competition (sign-ups close tomorrow at 8:00PM; link in bio)
- Charity Raffle (proceeds go to Homeless Street Angels); tickets can be bought on the door or using the link in bio
- Quiet Room to destress

This is a ticketed event open to all (18+ with ID). Prices:
- £7 for members of any Geek society (not sure what counts as a Geek society? Send us a DM!). Remember, LXRS offers free memberships; become a member to save £2!!
- £9 for non-members

Additionally, to ensure the event is as safe and welcoming as possible, please refresh yourselves on club environment expectations:

- Sexual harassment/assault, pushing/shoving, throwing drinks, refusal to follow staff instructions are unacceptable behaviours which will lead to removal from the event.
- There is a zero-tolerance policy for drugs, aggressive behaviour towards staff, drink spiking and illegal substances in LUU.
- Pyramid Theatre serves as a quiet and safe space. Please have upmost respect for those who wish to be in there.
- Drink responsibly.
- If you see or experience something suspicious, report it immediately to either Heather (General Interest Rep), a Geek society committee member or security. Sober point of contact details:

Christmas has come early! 🎅

Come along to HELIX on the 9th of December from 6PM - 8PM for the final LXRS event of 2025, our fifth and most FESTIVE Christmas Game Night!
