Thank you once again to Jo Gaping Goose for your ongoing support of Garforth and District Lions Club - CIO and especially this week for hosting our collection for The Clothing Bank
We had over 200 bags of clothes and shoes, some were brand new. Also boxes of new toiletries, these have already been delivered to The Clothing Bank for sorting and distribution to those who need it the most 👏🏻 🦁

Our fab team from Garforth and District Lions Club - CIO have been busy as always at The Growing Zone, they go every week to help improve the work spaces, for those who attend the group 🦁

Everyone who came to our screening event on Wednesday should now have had their results, good luck to those who have been advised to seek further tests 🦁

Thanks to Tesco for letting us be part of the blue token grant scheme, this helped us to fund the free event

Thanks also to Prostate Cancer UK for your attendance on the day and the support your organisation gives to those who need it

Finally to The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust who provide the tests and perform the screenings

Green (Normal / Low Risk)
Meaning: Your PSA score is within the normal range for your age group.Next steps: No immediate action or referral is needed.

Amber (Borderline / Moderate Risk)
Meaning: Your PSA score is higher than average or borderline for your age. This does not automatically mean you have cancer; it can be caused by a non-cancerous condition like an enlarged prostate or inflammation.
Next steps: You should schedule a follow-up PSA test (often in 3 months) and consider discussing the result with your GP.

Red (Raised / High Risk)
Meaning: Your PSA score is significantly elevated above the threshold for your age group, indicating a higher risk of prostate abnormalities or cancer.
Next steps: You should contact your GP or a specialist urgently to arrange further clinical evaluation, which may include a physical examination, MRI, or referral.
