1985 fictitious conflict between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Soviet forces went on the defensive defending the town. The Brits of NATO MN are slow work of attacking up in the last couple of turns managed to sweep round their right and attack unsupported soviet infantry. They destroyed just enough to win the game.

This month at our Sunday meeting we had 3 games.

20th Century Sikh Wars. The East India Company, were tasked with advancing on a distant river crossing opposed by the Sikh army in prepared positions. The Sikhs sent their cavalry and irregular infantry out of their position to hold up the Company men. It worked and the Company fell short of their objectives, however, the Sikhs needed to destroy the Company supply train and they failed too. So in the end a hard fought draw.

WWII northern Europe. British and American forces attempted to punch through German forces. Another hard fought game with allies making good progress on their left. Held up elsewhere.

The Galactic Republic were testing a new prototype spacecraft. Bothe the Empire and the Alliance found out about the test and wanted to grab the new tech. A three way battle ensued. The Empire and Alliance were so intent on each other that the Republic's new ship was able to escape.

WWII action, British Glider forces quickly took the bridge at first light and 'Held until refieved' German counterattack was delayed and piecemeal.

A Squat (Space Dwarfs) Hearth guard armoured force, were tasked with making a sweep of the Hulk and destroying any alien eggs and/or aliens they might find. Both were found and battle ensued.

Four games on Thursday

The Mongol Golden Horde invaded the land of the Pechnegs. The Pechnegs and their WarWagons turned back the Horde.

The chivalry of France fought an army of the Low Countries. The organ guns of the Low Countries, proved to be too much for the old fashioned French Gendarmes

German battle cruisers heading to bombard Hull were intercepted by ships of the Royal Navy. The encounter was inconclusive.

The arena was converted to a veritable jungle, with many an exotic animals lurking to attack the Gladiators. Many a beast and many a gladiator were slain for the entertainment of the mob.

Three games last night. The ever popular Chariots taking up a lot of players

Egyptian action.Anubis against Isis, plenty of impressive monsters and minions on display. The Undead of Anubis shambled to victory.

Ancient style GP, but with horses not horse power. For once it seemed a quiet race, no sudden downpours or soft patches to contend with but the crowds were pleased, no roots last night.

Renaissance English Civil War 1644 in the north a Scottish army invades Northumberland and the Royalists need to send the packing. Both armies were not of the highest quality but still a good scrap. Royalist win.

Six fantastic games last night.

Highland Clans clash over grazing rights in the last 'private' battle in Britain. Small game, great minis.

Saxons and Vikings confront each other beneath the ancient Celtic cross. The tide of Viking expansion is halted for now, Saxon victory.

Further development of some homebrew rules as the usual forces fight it out in a galaxy far far away.

Four golfers via for victory using whatever means they can.

Human warriors, accompanied by a strange green beast fight the forces of Narnia, an interesting mix of Satyrs, talking beasts and mouse men.

India-Pakistan 1965. India forces have broken through and head towards the river crossing. A small Pakistani force was dug in to defend. The Indians navigated one minefield and we're on the brink of defeating the Pakistanis on their side of the river.

Just 3 games at our May Sunday game but lots of fun.

Club Napoleonic rules, French v Portuguese. An early cavalry thrust by the French forced the Portuguese infantry in the centre to form square, slowing their advance. Both sides attempted respective right hooks through covering woods with heavy fighting.

Ancients Roman civil war in a replay of the Thursday night game, this time the two very similar armies came properly to grips. A decisive victory for the army of the Paulinus/Daybellius alliance over the forces of Heydrian/Davidan troops.

The second Napoleonic game of the day. This time French v Austrian. The French army was attacking Austrian held villages. As the battle progressed the French had some success taking one village and pushing back the Austrians but they were taking heavy casualties

A fabulous five games last night.

Quarantine37 campaign, in which the intrepid spaceship crews, one alien and one ladies, explore an abandoned space station.
Only to find Zombies! Desperate to grab loot and escape the zombies the crews fought their way out of the Med-Lab.

Ancients this week, Roman civil war. The Romans won! Though reports from the battlefield suggest the two armies were only just getting to grips when night fell

Could the rebel ships escape the Imperial blockade and reach hyperspace? Apparently, it was a real slugfest, unfortunately I missed the end, so the outcome is unknown.

Napoleonic
Somewhere in the Peninsular, British and Portuguese forces fought the French. Nice looking game.

WWII aerial, as American bombers head for the Third Reich in tight formation, could the German fighters get past the defending fighters to break up and destroy the bomber formation. Another great looking game.

Five games last night.

SciFi skirmish, two crews were one the trail of a downed spaceship and it's associated loot. The ladies crew had the better of it against the all alien crew. With some interesting side missions to capture a fox and destroy a thieving robot.

Renaissance England of Henry the Eighth against the French. A sweeping victory for the French and their Gendarmes, the English archers never really got to grips with the enemy.

WWII Pacific Naval battle. Bit of a try out game for a future longer game at one of our Sunday meet ups. Spotter planes were up and Americans found the Japanese's carriers. Torpedo bombers and dive bombers inbound!

Another run out for some club rules on development. A victory for the Rebels. The Empire just couldn't bring their big guns to bear on the more maneuverable rebel vessels.

The club's rules for Napoleonic naval games. Merchant ships protected by the French and Spanish tried to run the British blockade. It looked like a couple would get through but a couple of others wouldn't.

Four games but plenty of gamers, the always popular Chariot race absorbing 12 players!

the Circus Maximus once more thrilled to the sound of hooves and cracking whips, dome whips directed at opposing chariots! The race seemed to have a large number of dropped reins but was as tight as ever at the finish.

a home brew ruleset undergoing some testing. The first game only lasted 2 turns and was a win for the forces of order aka the Empire. Game 2 not sure what happened but rules are coming together.

The Crusades. A Christian forces prevailed against the numbers of Saladin's army. The heavy cavalry of the Holy Orders won the day in the middle of the battlefield with the supporting wings of mixed spear and crossbow units holding their ground against the Saracen infantry.

Fantasy warbands battled over the Holy artifact or the mystic Mole. One band consisted of Trolls and Goblins, the other led by a notorious sorcerer was composed of Undead, Orcs and Fishmen. Not sure who held the Mole at the end of the game but the Goblins were in possession of it but under pressure the last time I looked.
