Rare Varieties Rabbit Club The Rare Varieties Rabblit Club (RVRC) is a UK Nationwide club which specalises in rare breeds of rabbits. It is affiliated to the British Rabbit Council.

The Rare Varieties Rabblit Club (RVRC) is a UK based National club which specalises in rare breeds of rabbits and is also an umbrella club for any new breeds, unstandardised breeds and breeds without a club. The Club has been around since 1970 and in 2010 celebrated its Ruby Anniversary. The Club was formed on a train on return from France and has only ever had two Secretarys, Meg Brown and Mrs Ka

ren Malcolm who is the current secretary. The RVRC, is an umbrella club for new breeds of rabbits, unstandardised breeds and breeds without a club. Subscription fees for the club are
Stud/Partnership - £7
Adult Member - £5
OAP/Junior - £4
and are payable to the club secretary. If you wish to pay subs for the club, please contact us via email and we will give you the secretarys contact details.

RV Breed Survey 2026

Our last breed survey was undertaken in 2022, and we know many of the breeds we have are in large numbers in Europe but we have some that are unique to the UK.

It is not just the ones that come under our umbrella that are struggling there are quite a few other rabbits that are in the hands of just a few dedicated people who work hard to keep the breed of rabbit they enjoy.

As it has been four years since our last survey, we thought that it would be a good time to get an update the Rare Variety breeds our members keep so we can understand which breeds are now on our endangered breeds list.

We are really interested to know what breeds you now keep and which country you come from and would be grateful if you could please complete this short survey:
