Really enjoyed this today at Brew Me Sunshine.

We made Halloween floral table centrepieces, guided by Tracy who also spoke to us about the ways she can help as one of BMG’s wonderful Social Prescribing Team 🌺

Very pleased with the spooky displays we took away with us 🎃🕷️

There’s plenty of good company, food and fun to look forward to this month. Whether you’re a regular or thinking of joining us for the first time, you’ll be very welcome!

🎲 Friday 2 October, 12.30pm – Games afternoon at Brew Me Sunshine. Bring your 20ps!

🚶 Monday 5 October – Circular walk and lunch at the Dog & Partridge, Bare. Meet at 11.30am for the walk or 12.30pm for lunch.

🍽️ Wednesday 7 October, 1pm – Lunch at The Strawberry Gardens.

☕ Thursday 8 October, 10am – Breakfast at Brittlestar.

🍗 Sunday 11 October, 1pm – Sunday lunch at Lancaster House Hotel 😊

🥪 Tuesday 13 October, 12.30pm – Lunch at The Boot & Shoe.

☕ Thursday 15 October, 10.30am – Coffee morning at Brew Me Sunshine.

🌊 Monday 19 October, 6pm – Evening promenade walk. Meet at the Clock Tower.

🎃 Tuesday 20 October, 12.30pm – Halloween flower arranging at Brew Me Sunshine. Bring a small bunch of flowers or something from your garden. Donations to Brew Me Sunshine welcome.

🎬 Wednesday 21 October, around 11am – Cinema trip to Reel Cinema. We’ll confirm the film and exact time nearer the day.

Time to check your hot water bottle!

Hot water bottles are a low-cost way to keep warm, but they don't last forever.

They should generally be replaced every two years from the date of manufacture, as older bottles can deteriorate and may leak or burst.

So, how do you check yours?

1. Look for the Flower Wheel’ or ‘Daisy Wheel’** on the funnel or neck of your hot water bottle.

2. The number in the centre shows the year it was made – for example, ‘17’ means 2017.

3. The 12 petals around the wheel represent the months of the year.

4. The dots in each petal show the week of that month it was made. For example, three dots in the fifth petal means it was made in the third week of May.

If yours is more than two years old, it's time to replace it.

Our Communications Officer has just checked theirs… and their 2017 bottle is definitely heading for the bin!
