To mark the beginning of Spring, two luminaries of Glasgow’s burgeoning alt-folk scene are touring the UK in March 2026 - joined in Lancaster by local musician Georgie Rix!

Ali Sha Sha and Jude Norton-Smith tell a similar story in different ways. Drawing from the well of classic folk storytelling and traditional song their unique contemporary styles stretch this heritage through a distinctly modern lens, calling attention to themes of ecology, love, community, and the existential.

Having spent years playing together in various Glaswegian nests and setts, this co-headline tour sees them bring their music to new audiences, finding familiarity with new friends across Scotland, England, and Wales.

For their gig at the Gregson, they’ll be joined by Georgie Rix, an unapologetically Q***r, Aromantic, Asexual, Agender Folk musician expressing joy through their music!

Event organised in collaboration with artists, Q***r By Gum CIC + BaccyJ n Folio Productions

// RADICAL Q***R CRAFT EXHIBITION

Friday 20th February - Saturday 21st February
Olive Bar, The Gregson Community & Arts Centre, Lancaster LA1 3PY

Q***r By Gum CIC is inviting local LGBTQ+ artists, crafters and makers to take part in Radical Q***r Craft, a 2 day pop-up exhibition hosted at The Gregson.

This exhibition is part of our wider Radical Q***r Craft project: a year-long programme of sustainable craft workshops, skill-sharing and community events focused on reuse, repair, upcycling and q***r self-expression.

// About the Exhibition

Radical Q***r Craft celebrates craft as a tool for resistance, care and community.

We’re interested in work that responds to themes of:
• Reuse, repair, upcycling and repurposing materials
• Sustainable and anti-fast-fashion practices
• Q***r identity, gender expression and embodiment
• Craft as activism, care, survival and connection
• Resource-sharing, DIY culture and collective making

The exhibition will run across one evening and one day, creating a temporary accessible, informal and social space where art, craft and community meet.

// Who Can Apply?

This call is open to:
• LGBTQ+ artists, crafters and makers
• Emerging and established practitioners
• Individuals or small collectives
• Artists based in Lancaster, Morecambe and the wider North West

All craft disciplines are welcome, including (but not limited to): textiles, sewing, embroidery, knitting, sculpture, film, mixed media, patchwork, garment making, repair work, zines and more.

You do not need to have taken part in previous Q***r By Gum activities to apply.

If you apply to show your work we’ll be in touch in the first week of February 2026 with the outcome of the selection process. Thank you so much for taking the time to fill out this form, and for sharing your work with us!

Join us for our next Radical Q***r Craft workshop in the new studio! ✨

A physical media workshop where we’ll use collage to explore layout design and visual communication.

Optional: Participants can think of something they’d like to write about / communicate before hand and bring relevant images and materials to use in their designs.

As Q***r people we have a collective disillusionment and distrust of the press. With headlines often skewed against us and articles that spread misinformation we need to take back power when it comes to how we receive information.

In this workshop we’ll explore alternative forms of communication that focus on positivity and community. We’ll look at how to better present, communicate and distribute information in small but powerful ways.

Led by Graphic Designer and Artist Jack Taylor who works with groups such as Q***r by Gum, Good Things Collective, and The Morecambe Community Riso Press to explore how graphic design and visual communication can be used less as a commercial tool and more as a community focused practice.

Book a space via the link in our bio, limited capacity so be sure to register before 🎟️
