What an amazing day we had at Lancaster Pride last weekend! 🌈✨

We were proud to be part of such a vibrant celebration and to stand alongside and support our local LGBTQ+ community. Pride is a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusion, acceptance and ensuring everyone feels seen, valued and supported.

It was wonderful to meet so many people at our stand, have some great conversations and share more about the work we do to support mental health and wellbeing for young people across our community.

We were also delighted that our CEO, Julian, had the opportunity to speak with Beyond Radio about our work and why creating supportive, inclusive communities is so important.

A huge thank you to the organisers, volunteers, and everyone who made the day such a welcoming, joyful and inspiring event. We're grateful to have been part of it and look forward to continuing to support and celebrate our LGBTQ+ community throughout the year.

We're looking for volunteers to join us at our upcoming fundraising events and collections!

Whether you can spare an hour, a morning, or a whole day, we'd love to have you on board.

Our fundraising days are always full of smiles, great conversations and plenty of community spirit. They're a fantastic way to meet new people, get involved with a.c.e. and support the work we do. 💙

We're also starting to plan our Family Fun Day on Saturday 5 September. If you'd like to gain some event management experience, help organise activities, or volunteer on the day, we'd love to hear from you.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Asda Foundation for their generous grant of £1,000 in support of Achieve, Change, Engagement- ACE.

This funding will make a real difference to the young people and families we work with, helping us continue to provide vital support, create safe spaces and develop projects that empower young voices.

It was a pleasure to receive this cheque and to celebrate the impact that community support like this makes possible.

This week, we were truly honoured to welcome the Mayor of Lancaster, to Achieve, Change, Engagement- ACE as part of our celebrations recognising the impact of our work within the community.

Margaret took the time to really understand what we do, hearing directly from those who make ACE what it is. She spoke with our founder Sally, Interim CEO Julian, trustee Helen and Michelle, a parent whose family has been supported by our services.

These conversations highlighted not only the challenges young people face, but also the life-changing difference early support and the right connections can make.

During her visit, Margaret also explored our inspiring “Zine Project,” co-created by our young people alongside The Good Things Collective and Morecambe Riso Press. This powerful piece of work collates art which captures personal experiences of mental health, offering honest insight into what it means to each individual, while also helping others understand how they can support someone they’re worried about.

It was incredibly meaningful to have the Mayor engage so openly with our young people’s voices and experiences. We hope this visit helps shine a wider light on the importance of community-led support and the vital role services like ACE play in creating positive change.
