We want to share some difficult news about the future of ACE.

After many years of providing specialist mental health support to children and young people across Lancaster and Morecambe, ACE is now facing a very difficult financial situation and is at risk of closure.

We know this news may be worrying for the young people, families and supporters who are part of the ACE community, so we want to reassure those currently receiving support:

There is no immediate change to your support.

Our existing work with young people will continue while we explore options for the future.

ACE has supported thousands of young people since we were founded in 2008, providing free, one-to-one, trauma-informed support for young people aged 10–25. Today, more than 150 young people are waiting for support.

However, rising demand, increasing costs and an increasingly challenging funding environment mean that ACE is no longer financially sustainable in its current form.

We are looking for a partner organisation that can help secure the future of this specialist local service.

Our priority is the young people we support. We want to see the specialist knowledge, experienced practitioners, trusted relationships and support that ACE has built over many years continue to be available to young people who need it.

We expect ACE to continue operating while discussions with potential partners take place. However, unless a suitable arrangement or substantial funding can be found, we may have to close by March 2027.

🤝 We are particularly keen to hear from charities, health, wellbeing or community organisations that may be able to provide a sustainable home for the service.

Thank You and Farewell, Deya

Today we say goodbye to Deya Roberts, our CBT Therapist, who will be leaving us to begin an exciting new chapter in the North East.

Deya has made a valued contribution to our team and has supported many people during her time with us. Her compassion, professionalism and dedication have been greatly appreciated by colleagues, volunteers and young people alike.

We would like to thank Deya for everything she has done and wish her every happiness and success in her new home and role. She will be very much missed, but we know she has a bright future ahead.

What an amazing day we had at Lancaster Pride last weekend! 🌈✨

We were proud to be part of such a vibrant celebration and to stand alongside and support our local LGBTQ+ community. Pride is a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusion, acceptance and ensuring everyone feels seen, valued and supported.

It was wonderful to meet so many people at our stand, have some great conversations and share more about the work we do to support mental health and wellbeing for young people across our community.

We were also delighted that our CEO, Julian, had the opportunity to speak with Beyond Radio about our work and why creating supportive, inclusive communities is so important.

A huge thank you to the organisers, volunteers, and everyone who made the day such a welcoming, joyful and inspiring event. We're grateful to have been part of it and look forward to continuing to support and celebrate our LGBTQ+ community throughout the year.

Whether you can spare an hour, a morning, or a whole day, we'd love to have you on board.

Our fundraising days are always full of smiles, great conversations and plenty of community spirit. They're a fantastic way to meet new people, get involved with a.c.e. and support the work we do. 💙
