Many thanks to all who attended the sell out Isla Quartet concert last night

It was a real treat to witness such an exciting, energetic and emotive performance. The conversations at the drinks reception afterwards were inspiring, especially for the very young members of our audience who I saw sitting memorised throughout the Webern at the beginning of their programme

What a fantastic evening at the inaugural 2026 concert for the Borders Music and Art Society featuring Jonathan Ferrucci. The venue was completely full, with a packed house enjoying a wonderful night of music in a truly special atmosphere.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the evening such a memorable success.

We’re now looking ahead to the next concert on May 28th, featuring the Isla String Quartet, supported by the Tillett Trust. Tickets are available now and, with limited seating in the beautiful Music Room at Mellerstain House, early booking is strongly recommended.

Classical music concerts in Georgian Mellerstain House in the Scottish Borders. Bach, Beethoven, Corelli and other baroque composers are ideally suited to the Robert Adam designed Music Room. We also like to widen our repertoire to modern and contemporary composers too.

MELLERSTAIN SUMMER 2026

We’re very pleased to share details of the Borders Arts & Music Society’s 2026 Summer Season, once again taking place in the lovely setting of Mellerstain House.

We’ve put together a varied and enjoyable programme of concerts, with a mix of familiar faces and new performers. As always, the aim is simple — wonderful live music in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

For our first concert on April 30 it's a return visit for pianist Jonathan Ferrucci, whom many of you will have heard play a few years back, then accompanying cellist Madelyn Kowalski.
