Are your Scottish ancestors waiting patiently to reveal their stories? Why not start your search by booking a Scotland’s People seat at Scottish Borders Archive? For £15 a day, you can search Births, Marriages, and Deaths as far back as the 16th century and find your family in many more records, some of which aren’t available online. As the only Scotland’s People Centre in the South of Scotland, our dedicated and knowledgeable team will be on hand to answer any questions and before you know it you’ll be building your family tree and learning how your ancestors lived!

Take a journey through time with Coldstream: Then and Now, a fascinating exhibition that reveals how the town has evolved over the past 150 years.

Drawing on photographs and artwork from Coldstream Museum's collection, alongside contemporary images captured from the very same locations, this exhibition offers a unique glimpse into the changing face of the town. Discover familiar streets, buildings, businesses and community spaces as they once were – and see what they look like today.

Will you recognise that building? Did a family member shop there? What stories do these places hold?

Whether you're a lifelong local, a history enthusiast or simply curious about the town's heritage, this visual journey through Coldstream's past and present is sure to spark memories and conversations.

Artist Tina Foran will once again be leading participants in a relaxed creative session to help broaden your skills and round out your week. In this session participants will be exploring mono printing and collage, using archival images of Hawick and surrounding area as inspiration.

Nestled within the beautiful surroundings of Wilton Lodge Park, Hawick Museum is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the history, heritage and culture of the Scottish Borders.

Housed in an impressive 18th-century mansion, the museum has been welcoming visitors since 1910, making it the oldest museum in the Scottish Borders. Inside, you'll discover fascinating local history collections, military memorabilia, fine art, interactive family displays and a vibrant programme of changing exhibitions throughout the year.

There's always something new to explore, from contemporary exhibitions in The Scott Gallery and Waterfall Gallery to stories celebrating Hawick's people, industries and traditions. After your visit, take time to enjoy the beautiful parkland, riverside walks and gardens that surround the museum.

Start by unleashing your creativity in a hands-on weaving workshop, where you'll experiment with colour, texture and pattern to create something uniquely yours. Then, meet the talented weavers behind the Making Connections exhibition and hear the stories, inspiration and craftsmanship woven into every piece.
