Picnic Sail this Saturday!

Join us this Saturday for a relaxed picnic sail from Hickling, destination to be decided on the day.

If you’d prefer company in a boat and not got a buddy, just shout — we can match people up.

What a cracking final day to round off a brilliant three days of training. It was a hot one, but the sea breeze came to the rescue. Huge well done to all our adult and junior members who took part — fantastic effort from everyone.

And an even bigger thank you to our volunteers, instructors, galley crew and everyone who helped make the weekend happen. ⛵

Our first Picnic Sail of the Year is on Saturday 13th June!
Sails up from 10.00am at the clubhouse as we head out for our first relaxed picnic sail of the season.

Our destination will depend on the weather — possibly Horsey or Martham — but wherever we end up, expect good company, Broadland views, and a peaceful stop for lunch before returning early afternoon.

Bring your picnic, your sense of adventure, and join us on the water for a gentle summer sail.

Sunshine, gusty winds and plenty of smiling faces could only mean one thing at Hickling Broad Sailing Club this afternoon — Junior Racing was back on the water!

Five Toppers launched onto a lively Broad for another of Ted’s excellent tuition sessions, with sailors building confidence, sharpening racing skills and enjoying some fantastic sailing conditions along the way. From improving boat handling in the stronger gusts to learning more about tactics and control, there was plenty of progress made throughout the afternoon.

Junior Racing offers a welcoming, relaxed and supportive environment where young sailors can learn, improve and most importantly enjoy being out on the water with friends.
If you have a young sailor who would like to give it a try, we would love to see even more boats joining us over the coming weeks.

A big thank you, to Truc and Stu for providing the much-appreciated hot food afterwards — very welcome after an energetic afternoon afloat!
