The Nancy Oldfield Trust Accessible boating activities & accommodation on the Norfolk Broads. Visit for a half-day, full day or stay in our on-site bungalow.

Passionate about the Broads & making them accessible to everyone Established for more than 30 years we are the only facility of our kind in East Anglia, providing a wide range of activities and opportunities to our visitors. Enjoy a great day out with a difference in the company of our qualified skippers and instructors. Observe nature close at hand from one of our fully accessible skippered motor cruisers with onboard facilities. Look out for otters, kingfishers or marsh harriers, and listen for the boom of the bittern! Experience the fun and exhilaration of sail boats; even take on the challenge of learning to sail in one of our keel boats; try canoeing or one of our pedal launches. Residential guests can book a Mega Sup experience! If you want more than a single day out, families, individuals and groups can stay with us in one of our two comfortable adapted properties, Kenyon Bungalow or Berwick Cottage. Kenyan Bungalow, located on our site in Neatishead, sleeps up to 10 and includes a half day ‘on the water’ activity during the Summer months (April to October), subject to availability. Berwick Cottage which is located in East Harling (South Norfolk) is designed to cater for two guests with disabilities, and sleeps up to 6 in total. Jane & Caroline visited us for the first time last week & this is what they had to say about their experience:

'Many, many thanks for providing a wonderful morning for Caroline and I on Thursday. Special thanks to Stephen, who introduced us to the wonderful world of sailing! We loved getting out on the broad, seeing the wildlife and feeling the breeze.

Being able to hoist Caroline in to the boat was brilliant, as it enabled us to do something adventurous together. Caroline sustained a head injury in a riding accident and it has left her with limited mobility. Before the accident we used to gallop about on horses together and we both miss being able to have some outdoor fun, so the sailing adventure was really special to us. Caroline felt totally safe and said how wonderfully kind and professional everyone was.

Please send our heartfelt thanks to everyone involved. We will be back in the Spring again.'

We are fortunate to have been gifted by Tesco a large number of wetsuits & shoes, suitable for water sports & great for wearing in the water (especially great for kids at the beach!). They are all brand new with tags. The wetsuits are knee length, 2.5mm thick. Sizes range from children's age 3-4 to ladies size 18 & men's size 2xl. Suggested donation £5 for children's & £10 for adults & £2.50 for shoes. Contact us if you're interested! 😊

We have launched a Go Fund Me page to raise much needed funds which will enable us to purchase a new Pioner safety boat. For those of you familiar with the Trust, you will probably have seen our yellow safety boat out on the water, providing safety cover & support to our visitors. Built in 1995 & acquired by the Trust in 2013, it's fair to say she has seen better days. Can you or someone you know help us by donating to this cause? Every donation, big or small is very much appreciated by all of us at the Trust.
