Welcome to this week's RSPCA Northumberland West Newsletter.
There is a lot going on this week......
But first our Dog Show is returning in 2026!!
We are a mere 5 weeks away from our first Dog Show since 2019. Being held on Sunday 19th July, from 11am-3pm at Tyne Green in Hexham (weather permitting).
We will have plenty of classes for your dog to enter, no matter the shape size or age, and all just £1 to enter. There will also be a number of craft and Doggy based stalls for you to look at between the classes, as well as a fantastic food van, and a coffee van.
We will also have the RSPCA Northumberland West Rescue Dog Parade, this will be a parade of the dogs we have rehomed. So if you have had a dog from us in the past, please get in contact and we can add them to our parade if you want to take part.
We hope to see you all there, for what promises to be a great day.
We also have some new rabbits. RSPCA Inspectors took over 100 Rabbits from a property in Newcastle, with some going to other local Branches and charities ready to be rehomed. We took in a fantastic mother and 9 kits. The Kits are around 4 weeks old, so not quite ready to be rehomed, and the mother is around 1 or 2. We will be putting the full information on our website, once they have gone through all our Veterinary checks. So keep an eye out for them.....
Talking of Rabbits, we have a winner for our Rabbits and Guinea Pigs section of our Little Friends competition! Well done to Milk Thistle the Guinea Pig who received the majority of the votes. The winner has been notified, and they will be receiving their prize soon.
However there will be NO vote for the other small furries, as we didn't receive any entries for that section.
Featured animals......
It isn't just Rabbits we have taken in, we have also taken in a number of cats, ranging in age, as well as 3 kittens. These will be going on our website soon, and like the rabbits just need to go through their vets checks to make sure they are ready for rehoming.
All the cats will be vaccinated, micro-chipped and neutered. The Kittens will be vaccinated and micro-chipped, however due to their age they won't be neutered, but we can support you with that.
If you are interested in any of these animals, or indeed any of the animals we have available for adoption, please visit our website where there will be more information (https://www.rspca.org.uk/local/northumberland-west-branch/findapet )
and download and fill in a 'Perfect Match Form', which can be found at the bottom of the 'Find a Pet' page.
