Love a music festival? Love a comfy hotel bed? GlastonAbbey 2026 is returning to the very heart of Hexham on Friday 31st July and Saturday 1st August.

Tickets are just £19.50 for the 31st or £29.50 for both nights (concessions available). We really enjoyed it last year (and lost our voices for about a week thanks to the singalongs...)

Come and enjoy great live music on Hexham Abbey's Cloister Lawn and have a great weekend in Hexham.

FRIDAY 31ST JULY
Fleeting Rumours • Geordie Cinnamon • Jason Arnup
Headlining the night are Fleeting Rumours, widely celebrated as one of the most authentic Fleetwood Mac experiences on the circuit. If you've seen them, you know. If you haven't — you're in for something special.

Opening the evening is local legend Jason Arnup, bringing his signature country rock back to the Abbey stage.

And sandwiched between the two? Geordie Cinnamon — the ultimate Gerry Cinnamon experience.

SATURDAY 1ST AUGUST
Ed Sheeran Songbook • Arctic Flunkies • Oasis 96
Oasis 96 closed last year's festival in style - so good that we had no choice but to bring them back. Expect every anthem, every swagger, and every goosebump moment delivered exactly as Liam and Noel intended.

Before they take the stage, Jack Bowater brings his extraordinary Ed Sheeran Songbook experience.

And holding the middle? The Arctic Flunkies - Sheffield's finest, reimagined.

This is a small festival and 2025 sold out, so don't delay. Ticket link in comments below 👇

🎺Brass bands are a much-loved tradition here in the North of England and something very special is coming to Hexham next month!

The Queen's Hall in Hexham is hosting the first ever Clans vs Counties Contest on Saturday, 6th June. It is inspired inspired by the legendary cross-border brass competitions of the early 1900s.

10 bands from across Scotland and the North of England will go head-to-head in a unique musical face-off celebrating community spirit. With over 320 performers taking part, it's set to be a brilliant day out for all brass lovers.

Each band will perform a timed own-choice programme before an awards ceremony crowns the first ever Clans vs Counties champions. Who are you rooting for? Scotland or the North of England? Let us know in the comments! You'll also find the booking link there👇

Unfortunately, this account will be going quiet for now. Hexham Community Partnership, the non-profit that runs Visit Hexham, has no funding for 2026/27 and is regretfully closing down.

Great news! Hexham Old Gaol is back on Wednesday of next week (1st April) after its winter closure 😁 Explore the oldest custom-built jail in England and find out about the fascinating (and fearsome) history of this part of the world.

During the Easter school holidays the Old Gaol will be open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am–4pm, with three drop-in family activities — no pre-booking needed:

🐇Hexham Hare Trail — find all the hares hidden around the site, taken from medieval manuscripts.
👒Easter Bonnet Making — make and decorate a bonnet to wear.🌟 Spotlight Tours — free guided tours uncovering the history of Hexham Old Gaol.

Admission is £8 for adults (£7 without the optional donation), £7 concessions (£6 without), and under-18s are free. Pay once and visit as many times as you like for a full year.

These activities are part of North East Museums Ways to Play programme of free and low-cost family activities, sponsored by Tyne and Wear Metro.
