🎉 RHS Garden Harlow Carr is celebrating 25 years of extraordinary growth since joining the RHS in 2001!

Visitor numbers have soared from 72,000 to over half a million a year, the garden team has tripled, and planting has flourished with more than 1,600 new plants added annually. With 120 dedicated volunteers and a landscape transformed through major developments — from The Queen Mother’s Lake to the Winter Walk and the Bramall Learning Centre — RHS Harlow Carr has become a northern hub for horticulture, learning and wellbeing.

Join the celebrations at RHS Harlow Carr from 29 Jun–3 Jul for a week of feel‑good fun:

💫£4.50 adult entry - the original price to enter the garden in 2001
💫Kids go free
💫30% off RHS membership
💫Free seed packets for RHS Members
💫Giant floral RHS letters decorated by renowned florist Jonathan Moseley on a theme of RHS Harlow Carr (from 1st July)
💫Special displays in the library
💫History of RHS Harlow Carr talk - 11am, Friday 3rd July in the Library

Come celebrate how far we’ve grown — and where we’re heading next. 🌿✨

Our guided walks are often the best reminder that every visit to RHS Garden Harlow Carr can reveal something different.

Plants change.

Borders evolve.

People notice things they missed last time.

Have you ever discovered something completely unexpected during a walk?

Did You Know The Friends Help Fund Projects Around The Garden?

Many visitors don’t realise that Friends membership and activities help support projects within Harlow Carr.

Over the years Friends funding has contributed towards projects including:

• Wildlife cameras
• Mobility scooters
• The Friendship Bridge
• The bird hide
• Alpine cold frames
• Historic horticultural books

Every membership helps make these things possible.

🌿 The countdown is on! 🌿

This month marks 25 years since RHS Harlow Carr became part of the RHS family following the merger with the Northern Horticultural Society — and we’ll be officially celebrating this special milestone on 1st July 2026. 🎉

As part of the celebrations, we’ll also be taking a look back at the rich history of RHS Harlow Carr. Visitors can enjoy free guided tours of the garden led by the Friends of Harlow Carr every Wednesday throughout this month — a wonderful opportunity to discover the stories, people, and plants that have shaped the garden over the years.

Join us as we celebrate 25 years of growth, community, and gardening inspiration — while honouring the rich heritage that continues to shape the garden today.
