Our Story so far...

I Choose Life was born from a sleepless night in late 2018, thinking about what I could do to support those around me I loved and cared for who wanted to take their own lives.

I can’t go on, what’s the point, I just want to die, I’ve lost everything, just put me out of my misery, were just some of the heart wrenching words that were being spoken.

I couldn’t fix it for them, I couldn’t take away their pain or change things that had happened. I wanted to, I really did. If only I had a magic wand that would make it all go away, stop the hurting, take away the heaviness that had stolen their smiles. I would have done anything to have been able to do that for them. But I couldn’t, it had to be their choice, all I knew was, it was possible to smile again, feel joy and have the lightness return and not only that, it would feel better than before.

I’m not saying it’s not a tough journey, I’m not saying you won’t fall, want to give up and even dislike the people trying to help at some point but I am saying it’s possible, if you want it.

To journey with ICL is like no other. We aren't here to keep adding more and more on top of you; here's another exercise, here's another strategy. We do things differently.

Don’t misunderstand me, they are very helpful and you will see us bring things in when you’re ready but first of all it’s about getting rid of the crap.

The stuff that’s weighing you down. The lies.

You were born with an open heart and mind, to soak up all this life had to offer you, with just two fears, falling and loud noises. The rest is human-made, so that means it can be human-fixed.

I have worked with people for over 20 years now from all walks of life. I have opened my own Ofstead registered independent school, run a training company and developed my own models but nothing has taught me more than my own personal experiences. Shame, guilt, bereavement, anxiety, depression, PSTD and alcohol have all been friends over the years.

So how do I know it’s possible, because I’ve carried the burdens too, fallen for the joy stealers lies.

I’ve been on the floor begging for the pain to be ripped out, believing I couldn’t go on. It wasn’t the truth and amongst all the noise I could still hear a voice from deep inside me that could stop me in my tracks in a second. An absolute knowing, sureness and calmness that we all have but is often buried deep under ‘our stuff’.

The ICL Team are here to help and we can do that because we know what it feels like and we know you can overcome it.

You are the only one who has the answers for your life, we can help you find them.
