Thank you to Harry Satloka, Harrogate Free Walking Tours, who was our Guest Speaker at our recent ‘Afternoon Tea with Friends’ at The Harrogate Club.

Thank you to The Harrogate Club and all those who attended as we raised over £500 which we are using to buy Anatomical Models and Anatomy Chart for Harrogate’s Maternity department.

Today we celebrate the life of Martin Gerrard, one of our Trustees, who died at the age of 69 on 6 June.

Martin was one of the best known business leaders in Harrogate and was very supportive of local businesses. Martin supported many charitable causes including the Yorkshire Young Achievers.

Martin will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.

We are sad to announce that Martin Gerrard one of our Trusteess died at the age of 69 on Thursday 6 June. Martin was one of the best known business leaders in Harrogate and very supportive of local business.

After spending 49 years serving his clients across Yorkshire for Barclays Bank as a premier relationship manager, he retired in March 2022 and became an associate at Williams Investment Management.

Besides his business career, Martin supported many charitable causes including the Yorkshire Young Achievers Foundation and was a Past President of the Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce.

John Fox, Chair of Friends of Harrogate Hospital said “Martin was a great friend and colleague. I have worked with Martin on other projects including the Harrogate Business Improvement District (BID) and was very pleased when he agreed to become a Trustee of the Friends of Harrogate Hospital in July 2023. We extend our sincere condolences to Martin’s family and friends at this very sad time.”

This week we celebrate Volunteers Week. It is our opportunity to give a ‘Big Thank You’ to all our amazing volunteers.

Without their support we simply could not fundraise and purchase equipment for our Harrogate Hospital.

We are looking to recruit volunteers to be responsible for identifying suitable locations in Wetherby for our collection boxes. The volunteer will also be responsible for collecting the boxes. Time commitment a couple of hours per month.
