📖 What is Easy Read – and why does it matter?

Imagine receiving important information about your health, finances, housing or support services and not being able to understand it.

For many people, this is a daily reality.

Easy Read makes information more accessible by using simple language, clear layouts and supportive images. It helps neurodivergent people and others who may find standard documents difficult to understand and access information independently and with confidence.

Providing information in an accessible format is not just good practice, it's about inclusion, equality and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to understand information that affects their lives.

At VIA Scotland, our Easy Read Translation Service helps organisations transform complex documents into clear, accessible information that reaches more people and removes barriers to understanding.

If your organisation wants to become more accessible, we'd love to help.

Finding a job isn't just about earning a wage.

It's about confidence, independence, routine, purpose and having the same opportunities as everyone else.

That's exactly what our Triple E programme is here to achieve.

Triple E is our supported employment service, helping people with learning disabilities and neurodivergent people to find, secure and sustain meaningful paid employment. Through personalised job coaching, practical support and employer engagement, we work alongside individuals every step of the way on their employment journey.

Every person we support has different strengths, goals and aspirations. That's why our approach is tailored to the individual, helping them build confidence, develop skills and access opportunities that match their ambitions.

At the same time, we work with employers to create more inclusive workplaces, helping businesses recognise the value, talent and potential that disabled people bring to their teams.

Because everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive in the workplace.

If you're looking for support to find employment, or you're an employer interested in creating a more inclusive workforce, we'd love to hear from you.
