Rosslyn Chapel

Rosslyn Chapel Welcome to Rosslyn Chapel's Official Facebook. One of Scotland's most beautiful heritage attractions
(4)

Founded in 1446 as the collegiate Chapel of St Matthew by Sir William St Clair, the Chapel took forty years to complete and was not finished until the after Sir William's death in 1484. The beauty of its setting and the mysterious symbolism of its ornate stonework have inspired and intrigued artists and visitors ever since. Today there are countless theories, myths and legends associated with the

Chapel; many of which are impossible to prove or disprove conclusively (Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code being a recent example). Why not come and visit Rosslyn and see the place for yourself. Our tour guides will be able to tell you more about the Chapel stories as well as its equally interesting factual history. We also have a new state-of-the-art visitor centre with interactive displays and further information on offer, as well as a cafe and gift shop to make sure you get the most out of your visit.

We were delighted to welcome Belinda Carlisle and her husband Morgan Mason to Rosslyn Chapel yesterday ahead of her supporting Take That in Glasgow tonight.

So glad you enjoyed your visit with us.

The Masons at Rosslyn Chapel on this dark dreary afternoon but it makes the experience all the more exciting. It’s been on my bucket list for years…

Patiently matured and carefully considered, this amber spirit carries a story that reaches beyond the ordinary. For now, its secrets remain under wraps—but not for much longer.

This well loved pram, along with a children's jacket and some sunglasses, was left outside our visitor centre on Sunday afternoon. Despite someone coming in on Monday to say it was theirs and they'd collect it later, it is still here.

If this is yours, please collect it from our visitor centre by the end of this week.

Thank you.

Something intriguing has been quietly maturing behind closed doors — where sea air & time shape every drop. From the careful blending of character and cask to the slow influence of oak and atmosphere, a spirit has been taking form in the shadows.

Distinctive, unexpected, and soon to be revealed.

"O'er Roslin all that dreary night
A wondrous blaze was seen to gleam;
'Twas broader than the watch-fire's light,
And redder than the bright moon-beam."
