We provide person-centred support to over 3000 people every day so they can live their best possible life. Our services are based on our values and reflect the choices and aspirations of each individual and community we work with. Our qualified staff work with people in their homes and communities, sup

porting people in their day-to-day lives as well as making plans to achieve their hopes and dreams in the future. In our 25 years of supporting people and communities, we have seen how connection and interdependence can be transformational for people’s health and wellbeing. A big thank you to our Trustees!

As a charity, Carr Gomm is guided by a Board of Trustees who volunteer their time and expertise to help lead the organisation. They bring a huge range of skills and experience, and their commitment helps shape the decisions that support our staff and the people we support across Scotland.

We're proud of the open, collaborative culture we've built together, and it was lovely to see a bit of that at our recent Board meeting.

Thank you to each of our Trustees for the time, care and thought you bring to Carr Gomm. 🙏

A garden should be more than just an outdoor space. It's somewhere people can relax, connect and feel at home.

That's why last year we transformed the garden at our Morningside Service to create a stunning, safe space for the people who live there.

With their suggestions and opinions in mind, the garden has become a space where people from across the neighbourhood can gather, soak in the sun and build connections.

Because it’s more than a garden, it’s about creating a better quality of life for the people who live there.

👋Meet Dorothy, one of our Support Practitioners.

We asked her what she loves about working in social care, and honestly, it's not what everyone expects. It's not just sitting in the house. It's supporting people to get out and about, trying new things, and being part of someone's life.

For Dorothy, it's the rewarding moments and the relationships that make the job. No two days are the same, and always the chance to make someone's day that little bit better.

Thank you, Dorothy, for all that you do! 🫶

Stirling Youth Hub Grand Opening!

We are proud to have officially opened our Youth Hub, as part of our transitional support services in Forth Valley.

The space is designed to promote independence, with wellbeing and choice at its core. It will be a place where young people can relax, socialise, and build confidence.

The Hub will offer a wide variety of activities, from arts and crafts to life skills sessions, all shaped by the choices, interests and needs of the young people who attend.
The Youth Hub will open to the wider community through our referral process. More details will be announced soon.

Congratulations to Morgan and Vadim on a fantastic opening event. We look forward to seeing how the hub develops over the coming weeks, months, and years.

The Youth Hub is funded by Shared Care Scotland's Better Breaks Fund.

Big congratulations to Paul Marshall, our new Deputy Chief Executive! 🎉

Paul began his career in social care in 2002, when he moved to Glasgow from his native England. It was there he learned about the power of person-centred support, and the real difference it can make in people's lives.

He joined us in August 2013 as Operations Manager, becoming Senior Operations Manager the following year. Since then, he's built experience across frontline services and business services, from admin and compliance to IT, giving him a real understanding of how every part of our organisation works to support people.

Away from work, Paul loves spending time with his family, reading and running, and if you've ever been to his house for dinner, you'll know Indian food is pretty much all he cooks!

Congratulations, Paul, we're excited for this next chapter with you.

You'll work closely with our Service Manager, helping to lead and support close-knit teams while still getting stuck in with hands-on support yourself. It's a brilliant opportunity to grow your skills, take on more responsibility, and make your own mark, all within a genuinely supportive environment.

Salary is from £32,463 per annum (pro rata), and you'll also get 35 days holiday (rising to 40 with length of service), access to health & wellbeing perks, among other benefits.

Know someone with social care experience who'd be a great fit? Tag them below or share this post, you could help them find their next step.
