Already thinking about what you might like to do in the summer holidays? We've got some ideas for you!

We're delighted to share our Craigmillar Books for Babies and Craigmillar Stories for Sharing programmes for 2026.

🎉The Craigmillar Books for Babies programme starts on Monday 29 June and is for parents/carers with children under 4. Older brothers and sisters are very welcome.

🎉The Craigmillar Stories for Sharing programme starts on Tuesday 14 July and is for families with children aged 4-12. Younger siblings are also very welcome.

🧡All our events are free and are for families in the Greater Craigmillar area. We can't wait to see you there!

🎂Happy 28th Birthday to Craigmillar Books for Babies 🎂👏👏🎊🎊

We want to say a great big THANK YOU to all the families that came along to our Now You Are 4 event on Saturday. We had an absolute blast, seeing old friends and making new ones, and are so glad you joined us 🥰

We celebrated 26 four year olds alongside their parents and siblings, with stories, puppets, cake and gift bags. Oh, and sang Happy Birthday of course! 🎂

We must also say a big thank you to Marcela and Emma for the ABC Story, to Rita for sharing a lovely story too, and to Eric for the music. The library staff gave us lots of support as well 🤩

Thanks to funding from the One City Trust we have more gift bags available for children in Greater Craigmillar that turn four in 2026. Watch this space later in the week to find out how to get yours if you couldn't make it along.📖

Truly a team effort for our first ever joint Craigmillar Books for Babies and Craigmillar Stories for Sharing event. 🎉

Kara, Michelle and Meenakshi from Craigmillar Books for Babies, and Katie and Rita from Craigmillar Stories for Sharing are really looking forward to seeing all the four (and nearly four) year olds with their grown-ups this Saturday at 11am for our party in Craigmillar Library! 🥳

There will be stories with Marcela and Rita, music from Eric, delicious snacks from Edinburgh Food Social and gift bags to take home.

If you live in the Greater Craigmillar area, and your child is 4 or turning 4 in the next few months, please do come along. There's no need to book, and siblings are very welcome too.

Launches TODAY Monday 4th May 11am Craigmillar Library

As part of our commitment to we are launching Craigmillar Books for Babies Library Journey in partnership with Craigmillar Library. For families with babies and children under 4.

🥳Now You Are 4 Party!🥳
Saturday 23 May 11am-12noon Craigmillar Library

This will be a special joint event between our Stories for Sharing and Books for Babies projects. Now You Are 4 is a celebration event for families with a child who is 4 or turning 4. Join us for storytelling, cake and a gift bag with books for every child.

🥳Books for Babies 28th Birthday Party!🥳
Saturday 30 May 11am Craigmillar Library

We are looking forward to our May Storytime with our Storyteller in Residence Eric Brennan. We will be celebrating 28 years in the community! For families with babies and children under 4, older siblings welcome.

Thanks to some lovely donations we've been able to top up the bookshelves in Craigmillar Medical Centre today. 🎉📚

Next time you're in, see if you can spot our gorgeous stickers on them! The books can be explored and shared while you're waiting for an appointment - and we really don't mind if they go home with you afterwards 🥰

We're still looking for more donations of board books and picture books, so if you have any that your children have grown out of, we'd be delighted to help them find new readers and homes. Please get in touch if you'd like to find out more.
