Youth Vision

Youth Vision Founded in 2005, Youth Vision offers unique programmes and we are delighted to offer them to young people.

We aim to connect young people and volunteers to the natural world and Scotland's rural past through learning about the natural history and archaeology of Threipmuir Farm Steading. Our weekday Back on Track programme is offered to young people in S4 who are finding it difficult to attain in the school environment. We pick up groups of up to 8 pupils and transport them to our base in the Pentland H

ills. They spend one day per week for the whole school year following the Youth Vision programme, doing some work around the cottage and taking part in our activities before being taken back to school at the end of the day. We also provide a follow-up programme which includes additional counselling and support when required for any young people who have completed our programme. On Wednesdays we offer a Staying on Track programme for young people aged 15-21 who are struggling to find employment or further education. It offers them a chance to build a positive routine, gain new skills, build personal confidence, set achievable goals, gain qualifications, improve their C.V and produce a targeted action plan for their future. We offer a Saturday programme which is open to any young people over 13 years old interested in gaining new skills in activities such as fire lighting, bush craft, gardening, hill walking and rural crafts. It gives them a chance to learn more about themselves and the natural world.

🚨BIG NEWS: Our Cut the Chemicals campaign has passed more than 60,000 signatures.

The public are backing our call for a ban on spraying a harmful pesticide sprayed on the food we eat right before they are harvested.

A campaign that only started in May to end the pre-harvest desiccant use of glyphosate has shown how people want a healthier food system.

πŸ’‘Now the UK government must take action to support farmers to shift to sustainable practices while banning the most harmful use of this pesticide.
