We'd like to tell you a wee bit more about our next film screening at the Hub, part of our new monthly (first Sunday of the month) documentary season that aims to offer engaging films supported by knowledgeable and interesting guests!
On Sunday 4th October at 5pm we will be screening the visually stunning, award winning 2025 documentary that explores the health of the world's oceans and their vital importance to the future of life on Earth. Narrated by David Attenborough, this film shows the wonder and vitality of the ocean, its fragility and most importantly, our ability to protect it. Some parts of the film are challenging and while it is rated PG, we'd recommend it for older children or teenagers who are engaged in natural history and our planet.
We are very pleased to be joined by an expert in seafloor biodiversity and ecology, with a strong focus on the impact of man-made stressors on shallow and deep sea ecosystems. Professor Andrew K Sweetman is the leader of the Seafloor Ecology and Biogeochemistry research group at the Scottish Association for Marine Science, UK, based in Oban, and will lead our post screening discussions and Q&A
We will be serving drinks & popcorn, and while there is no charge for tickets, you are very welcome to make a small donation to support the Hub when you come along π
