We recently had a visit by Miles from Scottish Brain Sciences who shared some interesting information about the organisation and what they do, and we're happy to share that with our community in case it's helpful ...

Have you heard of Scottish Brain Sciences? 🧠

Scottish Brain Sciences (SBS) is a brain health research organisation based in Edinburgh, at Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium. They carry out research into memory and dementia - including clinical trials, an observational study called IONA, and a clinical service available to those on their studies.

They're currently looking to hear from people in the local community who:
Have a diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or Alzheimer's disease
Have been to their GP with concerns about their memory

Taking part in research at SBS can mean access to regular cognitive health monitoring, the chance to contribute to research that could help future generations, and the opportunity to do something positive and proactive for your own brain health.

If any of this sounds like it could be relevant to you, a family member, or someone you know, you can register your interest here - it takes just a few minutes and doesn't commit you to anything other than finding out more from the team:

Have you heard about the People's Emergency Briefing?

It's a documentary film (16+) that's being widely shown across the UK in communities and organisations, to share the same information that was delivered to Westminster about the impacts of the climate and nature emergency to the UK - along with the action that we need to take. The film does more than share the bad news ... it sets out to inspire people to take and demand action.

We're delighted to have been asked once again to host a local community screening at the Hub@531, supported by Mike Harrower from Greenpeace Edinburgh, who will lead the discussion after the film. We're showing the film on Sunday 6th September from 5pm in Juniper Green and we invite you to join us. We are a small venue so please book your spaces online using the ticket link in our event.
