Jubilee Hope June Update! 🇹🇿

June was a busy time for the Jubilee Hope Team. The month began with a trip to Izumacheli Island on the MV Lady Jean. On this visit 1,156 free medical services were provided, including HIV and AIDS testing and counselling. 🚢

Later in the month, the Jubilee Hope ship visited the Bumbire Islands. The local team were joined by 4 international volunteers who worked together to provide 5,406 services to island residents. 🩺

Vine Trust were delighted to have Claire (VT Medical Volunteer Programme Coordinator) and one of our outstanding medical volunteers Victoria invited to the annual Garden Party at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

It was a wonderful event, we were truly honoured to be there in the presence of The King and Queen, The Princess Royal and The Duke of Edinburgh.

Culloden Academy School have settled in well to life in Moshi 🇹🇿

We are delighted to announce a new partnership with Fife College that will add even greater value to our educational expeditions.

Together, we are working towards officially accrediting our international expedition programmes, meaning that participants will not only return home with life-changing experiences, new skills and unforgettable memories, but also with a recognised qualification on the SCQF.

Our construction expeditions already provide students with the opportunity to develop teamwork, leadership, resilience and practical skills while making a real difference in communities overseas. Through this partnership, we are proud to formally recognise the hard work, commitment and dedication shown by participants before, during and after their expedition.

At Vine Trust, we know that our expeditions transform lives – both for the communities we serve and for those who take part. We are excited to work alongside Fife College to ensure these experiences continue to have a lasting impact on students' futures.

Perth Grammar School have been hard at work on their two worksites! 💪

Both homes are coming on well and the teams are enjoying working with the builders as well as playing with the local children! 🫧

Perth Grammar School had a jam packed weekend in Moshi! On Saturday they spent time planting trees at a nearby primary school as part of local climate change mitigation efforts. 🌳

On Sunday the team visited a local church and then headed to Chagga Caves for a cultural tour making workshop. ☕

Lots of fun was had by all! 🇹🇿

We were delighted and deeply honoured to welcome our Patron, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, aboard the Vine Trust Barge in Leith for a very special celebration recognising the extraordinary contribution of our volunteers.
As a longstanding supporter of Vine Trust, it was a privilege to have Her Royal Highness join us as we celebrated the dedication, compassion and commitment of those who make our work possible.

The morning provided a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the impact of volunteering, hear inspiring stories, and thank the many individuals whose generosity of time and talent helps Vine Trust deliver life-changing work both locally and internationally.

We are incredibly grateful to Her Royal Highness for taking the time to meet with our volunteers and share in this special occasion, and to all those who continue to support Vine Trust's mission.

🇵🇪 Eye Surgeries on Board! 🚢👓🙌🏼😁

During our recent health expedition, Mexican volunteer, Emmanuel Franco provided specialised eyecare on board and even performed three successful pterygium surgeries on patients who were on the verge of losing their sight. This is just one of the many cases that demonstrate the invaluable support our volunteers provide.
