The annual International PBC Summit is a unique and anticipated event for many reasons. However, one of its most innovative features is the Lions' Den; a whole day dedicated to giving a space for direct dialogue between patient advocacy groups (PAGs) and pharmaceutical representatives.

Pharmaceutical representatives individually present to the assembled PAGs with plenty of time dedicated to a Q&A after each presentation, allowing for rarely-seen access for PAGs to put their questions directly to industry.

Read more about this innovative feature of the Summit in this article written by Becky Pender at Rare Revolution magazine: https://rarerevolutionmagazine.com/beyond-the-boardroom-how-the-lions-den-is-redefining-patient-industry-dialogue-at-the-pbc-international-summit-2026/

ONE MONTH TO GO!

In just one month, our PBC Foundation Patient Conference 2026 will be bringing our community together in Edinburgh — and today we’re delighted to open virtual registration!

Can’t join us in person? You can still be part of the weekend from wherever you are.

Main conference sessions will be streamed live on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, with opportunities to ask questions live using Slido.

And on Saturday, virtual attendees can also choose to join our Online Community Café during the first breakout session — giving you a chance to meet and connect with others in the PBC community.

Virtual registration is open now, and we’ll send registered attendees all the joining information they need before the conference.

Full details and virtual registration here https://www.pbcfoundation.international/events/patient-conference-2026/

Virtual registration closes at 5pm (UK time) on Friday 11 September 2026.

Wherever you’re joining us from, You Are Not Alone. 💜

Are you in the London area and would you like to help doctors learn about primary biliary cholangitis?

➡️ What is happening?
PACES (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills) is designed to test the clinical knowledge, skills and attitudes of trainee doctors, many of whom hope to enter higher specialist training for physicians in the UK. This is part of the Members of the Royal College of Physicians (MCRP(UK)) diploma, which is managed by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians.

➡️ What happens on the day?
The day is organised to test the Doctor’s ability to examine you properly. They will then be asked some questions by the examiners. There will also be qualified nurses present to provide care as necessary during the day.

➡️ When and where?
The next series of courses will be held at the Hilton London Olympia Hotel (W14 8NL) on the following dates:
Monday 28 September to Thursday 1 October 2026
Monday 5 October to Thursday 8 October 2026
Each day begins at 8:30am and will end at 5:00pm.

➡️ Other information
A hot lunch is provided with tea, coffee and snacks available throughout the day. At the end of each day, you will be paid a sum of £60 for your assistance.

➡️ To find out more and/or confirm your availability
You can email [email protected], call 0333 050 6240, or WhatsApp 0784 362 7769.
