We’re delighted to announce new funding for our Thrive Together Project! 🌱✨

Rare-Breed Men Tribe has been awarded £6,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund – Awards for All to deliver our Thrive Together programme, a 12-week wellbeing and life skills initiative designed to support individuals on low income and benefits.

Through Thrive Together, we will:
✅ Improve mental health and resilience with mindfulness and wellbeing activities
✅ Boost confidence and communication through peer support and mentoring
✅ Equip participants with practical life skills including budgeting, employability, and nutrition
✅ Provide creative outlets such as art, music, and role-play to support emotional expression and community connection

We are deeply grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund and the players of the National Lottery for believing in our vision and helping us create spaces where individuals and families can thrive.

This funding strengthens our mission to build brotherhood, promote mental wellbeing, and empower African men and their families across Scotland.

We’ve got exciting news to share! 🎉

Rare-Breed Men Tribe is proud to announce that we have been awarded £14,250 under the Ethnic Minority Development Fund (EMDF) to deliver our new project, Brothers on the Pitch ⚽

This initiative will use football as a powerful tool to:
✅ Tackle social isolation
✅ Improve physical and mental wellbeing
✅ Build stronger connections between African men and the wider community in Scotland
✅ Create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for friendship and growth

Over the coming months, Brothers on the Pitch will bring together men from diverse backgrounds to play, connect, and have open conversations that break stigma around men’s mental health while promoting community cohesion.

A huge thank you to the Ethnic Minority Development Fund for believing in our vision and investing in our mission to see men and communities thrive.

It is Sunday. For many, it is another day to catch up on sleep, scroll endlessly, or squeeze in one more task before Monday comes knocking. But let me ask you this: When was the last time your soul rested, not just your body?

We live in a world that rewards busyness and applauds hustle. The faster you go, the more “successful” you look. Yet, research shows that chronic stress and the absence of reflective rest are among the leading causes of anxiety, depression, and burnout.

Here’s the truth: your mind is not a machine. It was never designed to run without pause.

From a Christian worldview, rest is not laziness, it is wisdom. In Genesis, after six days of creation, God Himself rested. Not because He was tired, but because He was teaching us something vital: life is not whole without rhythm. Work needs balance. Rest is sacred.
