We are a group of medical students who are pioneering a 1:1 mentoring scheme for underprivileged and disadvantaged sixth form students, to help them to get into Medicine.

We're so grateful to Tom Donaldson Charitable Trust for generously offering five £100 grants to help In2MedSchool mentees with the costs of applying to medical school, from UCAT fees and travel to work experience to revision books and stationery.

Who can apply?
* Year 12 or 13 student at a state school in the East Midlands
* Already enrolled as an In2MedSchool mentee
* Meet at least one widening participation criterion

The application form has been emailed to eligible mentees, so please check your inbox (and your junk folder, just in case!)

Applications close 5pm, Friday 23rd October. Successful applicants will be notified by Sunday 1st November.

We have now migrated our Mentorship Meeting Tracking Form from Google Forms to Microsoft Forms.

The questions remain largely the same, so you should find the new form familiar and straightforward to complete.

🎉 Congratulations to our In2MedSchool 2026 essay competition winners: Oliver Freer & Jessenia Tahmim!

1st and 2nd place winners both wrote incredible pieces on the topic: 'Can compulsory vaccination ever be ethically justified in the UK?'

🏆 Oliver and Jessenia will have their essays published on our website, alongside being awarded Netter's Anatomy Flash Cards - 1st place prize, and Netter's Anatomy Colouring Book - 2nd place prize.

Dear Mentors and Mentees,

We hope you’re doing well and that you’re taking some time to reflect following A-Level results day.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to everyone who received their results! We hope you’re proud of what you’ve achieved and excited about the next stage of your journey, whether that’s university, further study or another pathway.

We also recognise that results day can bring a mixture of emotions. If your results weren’t what you had hoped for, please don’t feel disheartened. There are many different routes and opportunities available, and your results do not define what you can achieve in the future.

As part of Checkpoint 4, we’re asking all Mentees to update us on their destination and next steps following their A-Level results. Mentors are also encouraged to support their Mentees in completing this where appropriate.

The information we collect is really valuable to us. We are looking to build a clearer picture of where our Mentees are now, what destinations they have progressed to, and the different pathways they have taken. This will help us understand the impact of the mentoring programme, identify where further support may be needed, and improve the programme going forward.

In2MedSchool is honoured to continue the legacy of The Armitage Foundation.

The Armitage Foundation has played an important role in widening access to medicine for young people from underrepresented backgrounds, through its commitment to early, sustained support.

At In2MedSchool, we share that mission. Through our national community of volunteers, we provide free mentoring, resources, events, school engagement, work experience, and enrichment opportunities to support students from widening participation backgrounds who aspire to study medicine and healthcare-related degrees.

With The Armitage Foundation’s generous legacy gift, we will expand our work with younger students, helping more young people access the encouragement, information and role models they need earlier in their journey.

This event is for students who currently hold medicine offers for university and aims to help students feel confident in the transition to medical school. This session will include an interactive Q&A, to allow students to have any questions they may have about starting university answered.
