HELLO!! We are delighted to announce we currently have space for new members in Connected ☺️ - Do you have adopted children aged 7-10 or 11+? Do they struggle within mainstream activity groups? Would they benefit from being with other adoptees and in a space where their needs are understood? Are you passionate about supporting children and young people? Are you located in or around North Wales?
We are delighted to be recruiting for our Children and Young People Service in North Wales. Not only will the successful candidate be working within our fantastic CONNECT Service but also on our exciting project Adoption Alliance. We work in collaboration with National Adoption Service and Gwasanaeth Mabwysiadu Gogledd Cymru - North Wales Adoption Service to ensure all adopted children and young people are supported to access our services.

Children and Young People Support Worker (Connected and Adoption Alliance, North Wales) Part time 25 hours per week, £23,310 FTE per annum (actual salary £16,650 per annum)    An exciting and varied role supporting the delivery of ‘Connected’, monthly meetings....

Well, what a busy couple of months we have had at Connected! There have been all sorts of activities happening such as pizza making, animal encounters, a trip to Plantasia to name but a few! One of our younger members made a film of his experience at Plantasia! Think we may have a budding filmmaker ☺️. Some of the children from Connected - Adoption UK Cymru - CYPS met the Minister Dawn Bowden MS and some shared their thoughts about being adopted and how it can feel.

Adopted children from our Connected - Adoption UK Cymru - CYPS group in Wales and their adoptive parents recently met Welsh Children’s Minister Dawn Bowden MS.
The children spoke powerfully about the rewards and challenges of being adopted, including their experiences at school. All part of our ongoing discussions with government about the need for support for adoptees throughout childhood and into adulthood.
