Looking ahead to July! We'll be celebrating Teddy Bears Picnic Day on 10th July 2026. 🐻

We are looking for primary schools to take part and make it another successful event! We had a great response last year.

All you need to do to take part is:
1. Host a Teddy Bear's picnic at your school.
2. Allow the children to bring their Teddy Bear to school for a suggested donation of Β£2.
3. Set up a fun picnic space at your school and play lots of fun games too.
4. Optional but we'd love it if you can share some photos of your picnic with us!

All schools that take part will be given our new Ted Without A Bed book when it is published. 🀩

Please email us on [email protected] to register your interest and get involved.

Wanted: a bike for one of our residents please 😊

We are on the look out again for a donated bike for another one of our residents. It really helps with their independence and sense of freedom.

Thanks to your kindness, one of our residents gained a bike back in February and it transformed his life and put him back on his road to recovery.

Like the last time, we are making our own enquiries into a bike for our resident but, as the appeal worked so well last time, we thought we would ask. A little more kindness could help change someone's life.

Message the page or email us on [email protected] if you can help.

Spotlight on our Waterview property.

Did you know that women experience homelessness in a different way to men? They are less likely to be rough sleepers but will be in very insecure accommodation. They are likely to be sofa surfers, staying with friends and family, perhaps staying in unsafe relationships to secure themselves some accommodation or perhaps resorting to night buses to avoid rough sleeping.

Our Waterview property is female only and houses around 5 or 6 female residents in a shared property. They have access to support from our staff to help them transition from the shared accommodation to their own accommodation in time. In the meantime, this is a safe space for them to live with a little more freedom and to help them avoid being a hidden homeless statistic. πŸ’š

Did you know that the LGBTQIA community is more likely to be homeless compared to the general population?

When you dig a bit deeper, it's not that surprising as they face increased discrimination which increases their risk of homelessness for all the reasons set out in the article below.

Here at Wirral Ark, we think everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and supported, regardless of who they are or who they love. We remain committed to providing compassionate support, safe accommodation and a welcoming environment for all those who come through our doors.

This Pride Month, we stand alongside the LGBTQIA+ community in the fight against homelessness and discrimination. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

It's just emerging from a cold spring (despite the recent hot weather!) so it's not looking at its best but there are plans afoot for the garden at Hilltops.

Our residents will be getting involved in some activities and planting there soon so that by the end of the summer, it will be a vibrant place to go.

Such a kind gesture 😊Thank you for your generosity which will be well received by our residents. 😍

We've got some exciting news to share with you: Ted Without A Bed has had a makeover!

When the lovely Emma Larkin approached us about re-writing Ted Without A Bed, we jumped at the chance. Not only has she written a beautiful story, she has enlisted the help of Arwen Hughes to provide us with some new illustrations.

We are currently in the design and development stage with the book and it will be available soon! Watch this space....
