Our Community Art Table is now one of the most popular activities at our drop-in centre and focuses on a more therapeutic approach - projects last for a number of weeks and encourage focus and relaxation. The end result usually forms part of our annual exhibition held during Refugee Week.

And now, as a warm up to these projects, and for those who prefer to dip in and out, we’ve introduced a second art table purely for crafts, where members can start and complete something lovely in one session, and take it home with them.
If you’re living on the Wirral or in Merseyside, you’re seeking asylum or you have refugee status (Leave to Remain), then you can register with us in person, for free and access all of our services.

We offer free sewing lessons every Wednesday and Friday at Heart4Refugees in Birkenhead. If you’re living on the Wirral, in Cheshire or Liverpool, seeking asylum or with Leave to Remain, come along and register with us (that’s also free!) and you can access any of our services for free!

We have multiple fully operational machines and over lockers with everything you need to make something lovely.

We’re thrilled to have accepted more student placements from University of Liverpool School of Medicine who will join us on placement in the new year.

We met some of the students at the recent Health in the Community Networking event and have now signed up for four new student placements from Liverpool School of Medicine.

We’ve previously welcomed OT, nursing and Art Therapy
students on placement at our centre, and the students have always made such a wonderful impact on our services and to our community.

2027 will be our first student placements and the first time from Liverpool School of Medicine. We’re pretty confident it’s going to be great!

You@can now report hate crimes with us at Heart4Refugees, Wirral Change Tomorrow's Women - Wirral Centre and Wirral Multicultural Org as well as

Anyone can report at any centre (women only at Tomorrow’s Women, obviously).

Obviously we need, ask for and greatly appreciate your donations, but please, please, do not leave anything outside the doors when we are closed.

We are also not able to take donations of this size without prior arrangement as most sensible people will understand.

This is fly tipping. This will cost us money.

If you are kind and generous enough to donate items to us, please message us here, or email [email protected] and we can arrange to receive them here, or collect them from you.

But don’t dump on us please. That’s not kind or generous. It’s quite the opposite.

Now, does anyone know a man with a van who could help us remove these for as little as possible, or maybe even in exchange for a freshly made lunch and a warm welcome? 🙏

We desperately need donations for our community and are currently looking for the following items:

Men’s women’s and children’s Coats
Men’s joggers
Men’s jumpers
Fabric and threads for our sewing room
Art materials- paints, canvases, brushes.

Any clothes you donate that we do not pass on directly ourselves, are donated again to other charities supporting the local community.

We would be grateful if donations are not left outside when we’re closed. It creates a lot of mess from vandalism and often becomes litter.

However, we are open Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9-2:30 and Thursdays 9-12 and would be very happy to receive your donations during these times.

All our activities and classes are provided free of charge with hot drinks and lunch available to anyone registered with us.

Not registered yet? Come along to our centre and see the Helpdesk. Registration is quick, free and can be done on the day.

Thanks to Climbing Hut Ellesmere Port and Refugees Rock Climbing Community for another great session today. Thank goodness we have vomunteers who also enjoy so some of us can stay on the ground 😉 someone needs to take the photos right!
