Thanks to Wirral Council funding we recently employed a new community arts coordinator into our Heart4refugees team.

This role, along with wonderfully talented volunteers, helps us get out there working collaboratively and showing off some incredible talent from the community.

See our latest exhibition this coming week at Birkenhead Park where we’re showcasing replica homes from countries across the world. A heartfelt display of the homes people had to leave behind and a reminder of how fortunate we are here to have freedom, safety and family around us. ❤️

Second chance to see our wonderful Global villages exhibition made by members of our refugee community; handmade examples of the homes people have been forced to leave behind.

The work was first exhibited at Chester Cathedral during refugee week in June and now comes to Birkenhead, the new home for some recovering from trauma and trying to rebuild their lives.

The exhibition will actually finish on Sunday 23rd so please come along this week to see it and talk to one of our many volunteers who will be manning the exhibition throughout the week.

We’re very grateful to Birkenhead Park Visitors centre and Wirral Council for giving us the space to exhib this wonderful work and look forward to meeting you this week.

Exhibitions, collaborations, craft workshops, food sharing, music and so much more!

The warmth from our community knows no limits and the courage shown by so many in the face of the unimaginable is something we should all admire and respect.

The support we provide relies on funding and the big hearts of our volunteers and public support - we are celebrating your courage this week too - your courage to stand up for humanity in the current climate and the time you give to others in need.

Every day is a celebration of diversity and humanity for us so is an excuse for us to push the boat out and go crazy!

This year we are exhibiting a wonderful art project in conjunction with and we are SO excited to show you what we’ve been doing!

Our community art table has been on all systems go for months with members of our refugee community from across the globe designing, creating and building homes from their home countries to now come together in a wonderful display of diverse and beautiful villages.

Our community art table is open to everyone and is one of the therapy-based services we offer at our centre to support people who have experienced trauma.

Not only is it one of our most successful programmes, it’s also one of our favourites, as it brings so many people together ❤️ (and unearths so much talent too!)

Dates and opening times are on the flyer. All welcome - and on Tuesday 16th at 11:30am there will be a craft session at the Cathedral with artists who helped create the exhibition.

What a beautiful day we had yesterday at our foodie fundraiser 🫶

Thanks to our fabulous cooks for their time and their skills - every meal was delicious (some of us are still working our way through multiple take-aways today 😉

So many lovely people came to see us and eat together, there was an incredibly warm and positive atmosphere and it was multiculturalism at its absolute best! We even had dancing!

We are so grateful for your amazing support. It really warms our hearts to know how many good people are out there - never underestimate the difference you make just by showing up 🙏
