Another Volunteer statement ❤️

Voluntering helps me stay on the right path, helping others is helping me, I really enjoy seeing people in a bad place in there addiction( where I have also been before). Cause I know that I/we can help them get to where alot of us are which is in recovery. And just about enjoying the little things again. And that we are all just people, I have been treated with very bad stigma in the past, which that is one thing I have never felt from cog. And I also like to try my best to let people at cog now where I have been to where I am now, letting them now things I have been threw in my life, people have said they would of never believed how bad my addiction was, but it gives people hope that they can succeed in their recovery journey even if they’re just at the start of their journey, which alot of the time when they come threw the doors at cog they are.

VOLUNTEER WEEK
A few more volunteer comments!

I love my volunteering
Giving something back to less fortunate 😔. Nothing but kindness - they are all lovely. Who wouldn't want too do this. I don't know what id be doing if it wasn't for Cog. Thank you for this experience ❤️

AND

I am passionate about helping others. Everyone at Cog are relaxed and freindly - it’s vital that every human being has access to food. I really enjoy volunteering and try my best to help people. I find it very rewarding. Thanks for having me

VOLUNTEERS WEEK
We asked some of our volunteers why they volunteer at COG

I believe kindness matters and that caring and empathy ensure that our most vulnerable are protected. I suppose it is my own family history of alcohol abuse that led me to COG.
Watching the stigma and disrespect my dad, a kind and intelligent man, was treated with has been instrumental in me wanting to make a difference. There but for fortune or favour go any one of us.
Every small act of kindness matters. When we are out with the trolley, we have that opportunity be it a cuppa, a hug, something to eat or simply just caring.
In return I have met some smashing people, belly laughed, cried and worried too but volunteering has enriched my life and I would recommend it to everyone.

So lucky to have Linda leading at COG!
