A truly great concert with SC&T Youth, Hannah Rarity, Heather Cartwright and singing/accompaniment workshop participants at Way WORD Festival in the ever atmospheric King's Pavilion! Well done all; - including the audience.

Saturday 24th October. Come along for a fantastic night of dancing, great company and rollicking tunes with Danse McCabre Ceilidh Band at Aberdeen Music Hall. Whether your favourite is the Gay Gordons or the Waves of Torry, the Dashing White Sergeant or the Riverside Jig, Strip the Willow or the Boston Two-Step – and whether you are a total ceilidh newbie or an experienced dancer – full-on fun is guaranteed. Scottish Culture and Traditions welcomes adults of all experience levels to explore Scottish traditional music and song in a friendly, supportive environment. Whether you're a complete beginner or returning after years away, you'll find classes, workshops and events where you can learn, play and perform alongside others. From fiddle, whistle and clarsach to mandolin, accordion and small pipes, we’ve got plenty to offer. Head to Thinkific for the full list.

You'll discover much more than tunes and songs. You'll become part of a welcoming community where making music and meeting new friends go hand in hand.

🎸 Guitar & Mandolin Workshop Day This Saturday 🎶

Join brilliant musicians Jenn Butterworth and Laura-Beth Salter for a fun, relaxed day of tunes, technique, rhythm and playing together.

📅 Saturday 26 September
🕥 10.30am–4pm
📍 MacRobert Building, King Street, Aberdeen AB24 3FX
💷 £40, including a soup & sandwich lunch

You’ll spend most of the day in your chosen instrument group, then come together for the final 45 minutes to create a big arrangement as a group. Expect plenty of playing, some new ideas to take home, and a chance to make music together in a social setting.

**🎵 Mandolin with Laura-Beth Salter**

Learn a couple of new tunes with Laura-Beth, while exploring technique, rhythm and healthy practice along the way. We’ll finish the day by joining the guitars to arrange one of the tunes we’ve learned.

The session is aimed at intermediate players and above, but everyone is welcome.

**🎸 Guitar with Jenn Butterworth**

Come along and explore exciting ways to back tunes, develop your guitar technique and pick up some new ideas from Jenn. We’ll join the mandolins for the final 45 minutes to work on a big group arrangement.

Standard tuning. The session is aimed at players with basic chord knowledge and above, but everyone is welcome.
