English:
In our activities, people who are frequently talked about in the wider discourse, have the chance to have their say: Formerly homeless city guides talk about life on Berlin's streets. People with a forced migration background combine their own personal experiences with information about displacement and migration during their city tours. querstadtein offers city tours and digital educational formats on the topics of homelessness and forced migration. Our city guides are experts in their own right and know what they are talking about: People who once slept on the streets themselves, present the places where they once lived. They discuss possible causes of homelessness and talk about their own survival strategies. People with a forced migration background link their biographies to locations in public space: They talk about their arrival in Berlin, about their activities as urban planners or activists, about discrimination but also about the potential of new communities. The digital tours invite you to independently discover new perspectives on the city. In the audio walk "Voices from Bahnhof Zoo" four people, who are currently affected by poverty and homelessness, share their stories. The tours present the viewpoints of people who are often the subject of social discourses, without being able to give an opinion themselves. This is how querstadtein creates spaces for dialogue and invites participants to critically question their own prejudices. As actors of political education, the city guides are able to change discriminatory narratives and are actively contributing towards a society in which diversity is the norm.
