Falling Walls Venture brings the world’s most promising science start-ups together with investors, industry leaders, and expert mentors.

The 25 science start-up finalists have the opportunity to connect with leading investors and compete for investment opportunities with eight renowned funds: Atlantic, Extantia, HTGF, LIFTT, MITO Tech, Nucleus Capital, Plug and Play, and Redstone.

Finalists can also win coaching prizes from earlybird, lindenpartners and VOSSIUS, and receive expert support as they develop and grow their businesses.

This morning, the Falling Walls Foundation hosted a breakfast with Stefan Evers, CDU Berlin's top candidate for the upcoming elections. The topic: science and innovation policy priorities for Berlin – funding mechanisms, institutional structures and the strategic direction of research in the capital.

This year marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between Canada and Germany and 55 years of their science and technology agreement. To mark the occasion, we're honoured to announce that Canada will be the partner country of the Falling Walls Science Summit 2026. A delegation of more than 50 university presidents, research funders, entrepreneurs and government leaders will join us in Berlin from 6–9 November. Among them, U15 Canada – representing the country's leading research universities – will be there to help deepen collaboration with European partners.



What to expect:

• Ten discussions on a wide range of topics, from AI and the Arctic to research security and the future of food, developed with Canadian partners and open to every participant.

• A dedicated Canada Pavilion on 6 and 7 November, where Summit participants can meet Canadian leaders from academia, industry and government, and learn about their cutting-edge research and innovation programmes.

• Visionary Canadian researchers participating in this year's Falling Walls competitions, including Women's Impact Award winners and Finalists of Falling Walls Lab and Falling Walls Venture.

This year’s Women’s Impact Award winners are asking how science can better serve the people who need it most.

From AI and Long COVID to maternal healthcare, 𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗮 𝗙𝗶𝘀𝗸𝗲, 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶 𝗠𝘂𝗸𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗷𝗲𝗲 and 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗹-𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘇 are putting equity, inclusion and societal impact at the centre of their research. Where science meets communities, change begins.

Meet the 15 Falling Walls Engage Finalists 2026: global innovators showing how science created with communities can drive meaningful change. Their initiatives are empowering future scientists, expanding access to technology, protecting biodiversity, and co-creating solutions to the climate crisis. Through creative, inclusive, and locally relevant approaches, they are turning scientific ideas into tangible impact. This year, all 15 initiatives address climate change, a focus set by the Hannover Re Foundation (Hannover Re), the exclusive sponsor of the Falling Walls Engage Pitches

On 6 November 2026, the Finalists will pitch live at the Falling Walls Science Summit in Berlin and compete for the title “Science Breakthrough of the Year 2026 in Science Engagement.”
