For Week 2 of Girls Hack for Impact in Musanze, our 50 high school girls cohort learned about Design Thinking for Social Impact. We localized our case studies to real challenges rural girls face daily.

It was nothing short of inspiring to watch their empathy turn into actionable ideas, addressing critical local issues in Gender Inequality, Quality Education, and Climate Action.

The journey from learners to active community problem-solvers has officially begun! 🚀

🚀 We officially launched Week 1 of the training bootcamp for our 50 high-school beneficiaries of the Girls Hack for Impact initiative, and it was magical!

For our very first session, we dove into Digital Literacy. We stripped away the complex jargon, broke down foundational computer concepts, and even learned a fun song about how computers work. Seeing the joy and sheer enthusiasm as these girls interacted with the laptops was the ultimate reward.

We are closing the digital processing gap for rural girls before they ever write a line of code 👩🏽‍💻

A massive thank you to our local school partners, HER Community, and our amazing Rwanda chapter for ensuring no girl gets left behind in the digital age.

Climate change is not gender-neutral.

Research shows the climate crisis often deepens existing gender inequalities – but it also highlights the power of inclusive solutions. That’s why initiatives like Project Ayika, founded by Falling Walls Engage Pitches 2025 Finalist Eunice Adewusi, are so important. The project empowers young African women with climate tech skills to help build a just and climate-resilient future.
