What if one simple grocery item could help make someone’s holiday season a little easier?

This Christmas, the Institute for Sports Physiotherapy and Performance is collecting non-perishable food items in support of The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope.

From November 1 to December 18, you can drop off donations at:

Pasta, rice, canned soups, vegetables, fruit, beans, cereal, oatmeal, peanut butter and other pantry staples can all make a difference.

An Invitation to Partner With Us This Christmas

Christmas is a time for connection, generosity, and community.

Each year, The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope welcomes hundreds of individuals and families to our Christmas Community Dinner. More than a traditional Christmas meal, it is an opportunity to come together, share meaningful moments, and experience a sense of belonging.

As we prepare for this year’s dinner on December 9, we warmly invite local businesses, organizations, and individuals to be part of this cherished community tradition.

We are pleased to recognize Tim Hortons Windsor & Essex County Restaurant Owners as our returning Presenting Sponsor, along with St. Clair Alumni as our Venue Support Partner. We sincerely appreciate their generosity and commitment to our community.

Sponsorship opportunities are available at $2,500, $1,000, and $500. Individuals can also sponsor a Christmas meal for $25, either in honour of someone special or as a gesture of kindness to a neighbour.

Inside the Centre: Safety Around the Clock

At The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope, safety is a daily responsibility. Security staff are on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Entrance screening, bag checks, and responses to safety concerns are part of our ongoing work to protect residents, staff, and visitors.

Substance use is not permitted on site. Everyone accessing the Centre is expected to follow our safety rules and respect those around them. Staff and security work together to address concerns and respond when those expectations are not met.

This week, we’re sharing a closer look at the everyday work behind our services.

A Little Extra Support for Residents on Their Way to Work!

A big thank you to Macro Foods Macro Foods, along with members of Windsor Police ServiceWindsor Police, Windsor Firefighters Windsor Fire & Rescue Services, and essexwindsoremsEssex-Windsor EMS, for stopping by our Centre and donating three boxes of ready-to-eat frozen meals!

Did you know that some of our shelter residents are also working?

For residents who have found employment, having a convenient meal to pack for work can make their daily routine a little easier.

These donated meals will give our working residents an additional lunch option as they continue building stability and moving forward.

Sometimes, a little extra support can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day.

Thank you to everyone involved for thinking of our residents and supporting their journey toward greater independence!

Coming Together for a Hunger-Free Community!

The Salvation Army Windsor Centre of Hope was happy to support UHC – Hub of Opportunities at their annual Pastabilities event!

By the time we arrived, the room was already buzzing with people coming together to enjoy delicious food and support an important cause.

As fellow members of the food bank network, we share a common mission: fighting food insecurity and ensuring that individuals and families in our community have access to the food they need.

It was wonderful to see so many people showing up for this cause. Thank you to uhcwindsorUHC- Hub of OpportunitiesUHC, the organizers, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this event possible!

We’re already looking forward to next year’s Pastabilities!
