YOUR Hospice is an organization like no other. The Hospice mission is to support, educate and empower all those who are affected by or caring for a person with a life-altering diagnosis. We are the first and largest community based hospice palliative care village in Canada and we will soon be the very first Hospice in Canada with a satellite residential home! YOUR Hospice is a Centre of Excellence

that provides outstanding services as well as teaching and learning opportunities for professionals, volunteers and caregivers. Who Should Call the Hospice? The Hospice welcomes patients, families and caregivers who have been affected by a life-altering diagnosis. This does not need to be a terminal illness. We help people with a wide range of diagnoses, from all backgrounds and ages. In fact, we have 47 Wellness Programs that our Service Coordinator can help you to access. Self-referrals are encouraged, so call us today or visit us at www.thehospice.ca. When Should I Call the Hospice? Our programs and services are available from the time of pre-diagnosis through bereavement. We are here to support you through your life’s journey and can help to facilitate medical treatments, education, patient and caregiver support, wellness programs and much, much more.

With the completion of our AGM this week, we can officially say our 2025-2026 fiscal year is done - and it is time to celebrate! 🥳

Our Hospice Team hosted a Staff Summer Celebration at both our Windsor and Erie Shores Campuses, with a delicious lunch on wheels, courtesy of Butchers on the Block.

Way to go everyone, and congratulations on another fantastic fiscal year! 🎉

Our Hospice Annual General Meeting was held this week, honouring a year of hard work, success, and “expert hospice palliative care!” 🕊️

Thank you to both The Hospice for Life Foundation Board and The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County Board, the staff, volunteers, and our special guests for attending and speaking! A huge Hospice thank you also goes to everyone who helped organize and plan this event! 💙

Both our Windsor and Erie Shores Residences celebrated Father's Day this past weekend! 💙

Our talented Kitchen Volunteers whipped up some festive feasts for patients and their loved ones to enjoy, including some "Dad" themed items, like Dad's Root Beer and Dad's Oatmeal Cookies!

We are so thankful that we get to help our patients celebrate holidays with their loved ones. Special thanks to our generous Holiday Meal Sponsor, WFCU • Your Ontario Credit Union! 💙

On behalf of the Dr. Jim Gall Awards Committee, we are pleased to announce that nominations are now open for The Dr. Jim Gall Hospice Award for Compassionate Palliative Care, Supporting the Whole Person and Their Caregivers.

In its eighth year, this award celebrates and honors healthcare professionals in recognition of outstanding achievement, contributions to, and, impact in the field of hospice palliative care in Windsor and Essex County.

The submission deadline is Friday, July 17, 2026 at 4:00 PM. Nominations can be:

What's better on a warm, sunny afternoon than a few scoops of ice cream? 🍦

Our friends from Slinky's Ice Cream brought their ice cream cart to our Windsor Residence last week stocked with tons of tasty flavours, sauces, and toppings for patients, families, staff, and volunteers to enjoy!

This sweet treat was a gift from the family of a patient who spent time at our Residence as a "thank you" for the wonderful care their loved one received.

It was a delicious surprise that was appreciated by all, thank you so much! 🍨

We’d like to wish everyone a very happy Father's Day. While it is a celebratory day, we also acknowledge that navigating feelings of grief and loss can be especially difficult on days like these. When you are grieving, it is important to recognize that you will experience the holidays differently without your loved one.

Our Hospice has a few tips to help you navigate your grief. There is no right or wrong way to cope, and you cannot ignore or dismiss your grief, so it's always best to do what feels right to you and your situation.

A big Hospice THANK YOU to Mr. Costello’s Grade 12 Chemistry class at Riverside High School! 👏

The class held a fundraiser this year, and they chose our Hospice as the recipients, donating an amazing $850 in support of patients and their loved ones!

Thank you – you’ve all got great chemistry when it comes to giving back! 💙

Congratulations to Joan, the recipient of this year's Seasons Celebrates Remarkable Residents® Award! 🌟

Seasons Celebrates Remarkable Residents® is a long-standing Signature Program celebrating the contributions and successes of the seniors who call Seasons Retirement Communities home. This yearly contest invites family, friends, and staff to nominate a Seasons resident who has overcome obstacles to reach their goals and is an exemplary community member demonstrated through their talents, volunteerism, and work, both past and present.

As this year's winner, Joan was able to make a monetary donation to a Canadian charity of her choice, and chose our Hospice! With her friends and family by her side, she presented our Hospice with a cheque for $6,250.00!

Thank you, Joan, for your generosity, and congratulations on this amazing achievement! 👏

Join us for a fun-filled day of touring local wineries, all in support of our Hospice! 🕊️

Start your afternoon with a light lunch at the Ciociaro Club Pavilion, then jump on your bus to get a taste of Windsor-Essex Wine Country! 🚌

Our afternoon tour takes you to three local wineries with specially curated tastings. This vibrant, social experience is filled with great wines, beautiful views, and a seriously good time! 😍

To conclude this fun-filled afternoon, we'll head back to the Ciociaro Club Pavilion for a delicious dinner and dancing under the stars! ⭐
