Canada’s next major tourism opportunity might be hiding in plain sight. 

On March 4, CEO of the ICC Daniel Bernhard will speak at the conference about the growing role newcomers play in shaping tourism and strengthening communities across Canada. 

Drawing on insights from , the session will explore how newcomers are discovering Canada, and how stronger feelings of belonging can turn exploration into repeat visits and deeper community connection. 

He will be joined by Megan Reynolds, Sales Manager at for a fireside conversation exploring how these insights translate into real-world experience in British Columbia, followed by an audience Q&A.

Twenty years after becoming a Canadian citizen, Kumaran Nasesan’s journey reflects what dedication, leadership and belonging can build.

From arriving as a teenager fleeing conflict to becoming a business leader and community advocate, he embodies the strength newcomers bring to Canada.

His support for the ICC comes from lived experience: when immigrants are welcomed and supported, they help shape a stronger country for everyone.
