🌈 Happy Pride! (to everyone except Brad Bradford)

Did you think we wouldn’t notice, Brad? While Toronto celebrates, Brad has some explaining to do.

😡 Voted against pedestrianizing Church Street for Pride
😡 Endorsed by politicians who opposed same-sex marriage
😡 Stayed quiet on endorsement from Turning Point Canada, a far-right anti-2SLGBTQ+ group

Brad isn’t distancing himself from this record. He’s embracing it.

If you see Brad this Pride Week, ask him directly:
🤔 Do you reject the Turning Point Canada endorsement?
🤔 Do you stand by your vote against Church Street?
🤔 And do you agree with your “good friend” John McKay?

Allyship is a track-record, and our city deserves better.

Let’s hold harmful conservatives like Brad accountable and keep them out of office. Link in bio to join our efforts.

Looking for a fun community that just gets it? We’ve got you 😎

Our volunteers come from so many different areas and experiences - and they’re all connected by a desire to make Toronto better.

Right now, we’re helping transit riders across Toronto push back against Ford’s TTC takeover.

We need more hands on deck! Every volunteer = dozens more people signing our petition and sending their message to Ford!

Come hang out in the sun and help transit riders take action! progresstoronto.ca/volunteer ☀️

In Doug Ford’s Ontario, local decisions are no longer based on the will of local residents.

Speed cameras.
Safe consumption sites.
Bike lanes.
The island airport.
Ontario Place.
School boards.
Police priorities.

Instead of letting Toronto chart its own course, Ford panders to conservative voters outside our city.

Doug Ford has meddled with our city for too long. We’re organizing the push back, and it starts at the municipal level.

📩 new message: from Brad’s constituents to you

75 concerned Beaches-East York residents have signed an open letter — and the number is growing. Their message? Brad Bradford doesn’t meet the needs of his own residents as councillor, don’t trust him to meet the needs of an entire city as mayor. Read full letter on our website.

We hear it everyday: ignored emails, absent in the community, flip-flopping his stances on many issues.

Brad has made it clear to his residents that he’d rather achieve his own political ambitions than support them. And they know it. When Brad ran for mayor in 2023, he came in 8th place among his own constituents.

Do you live in Beaches-East York and don’t believe Brad should be mayor? Read full letter and sign onto the open letter! You can also share your story so the rest of Toronto can get to know the real Brad: https://www.progresstoronto.ca/bey-letter-to-toronto

CW: Police brutality

Cyclist: “What did I do wrong?”
Police: “You didn’t stop”

That’s supposedly what prompted 4 officers to violently tackle a cyclist this week.

We’re not saying cyclists don’t need to follow the rules. But why is this level of force being used over a simple traffic violation?

Toronto police have shown they think they’re above the law. We need public pressure to ensure police are held accountable for their harmful actions.

☀️ You’re invited to the party of the summer ☀️

Join hundreds of supporters, volunteers, organizers, community leaders, and more from across Toronto – all dedicated to building a better city.

We’ve got something for everyone: you can play lawn games in the garden, chat politics by the bar, or hit the dance floor with our live DJ. Aaand we have a special performance to announce closer to the date! 🤫

We invite you to celebrate our work together to build a city that works for everyone! We’ve all worked hard to win important changes in our city—wins only possible because of people like you. Let’s keep building on those wins, hold conservatives accountable, and elect more progressives to City Hall in this year’s election! But before we get back to work, let’s have fun and connect with each other!
