Despite forecasting low growth globally, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development sees a bright spot in Israel.

The OECD predicts GDP growth will stay high in Israel at 4.8% this year, and 3.4% in 2023.

Some of the reason for this optimism comes from Israel's technology sector, which is “expected to strengthen with growing exports and investments in the industry, if at a slightly lower rate than in previous years.” Employment numbers are also coming back after the pandemic.

Another massive step for Israel-Arab relations came at the end of May.

Just 20 months after the signing of the Abraham Accords, Israel signed a free trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates in Dubai.

"This is an event of historic importance for economic relations between the State of Israel and the UAE - the first free trade agreement with an Arab country,” said Orna Barbivai, Israel's Minister of Economy and Industry. “The free trade agreement that we signed this morning will strengthen trade between the two countries, remove barriers and promote new business opportunities and partnerships, which will represent a robust base for our joint journey."

We will continue watching developments closely.

A significant step has been taken to build economic ties between Israel and Morocco.

Business and government agencies from both countries signed 13 memorandums of understanding (MOUs), pledging to look into collaborating on innovations in the areas of agriculture, water technology, logistics and more.

Moroccan officials are looking to learn best practices from Israel on developing their own startup ecosystem. Morocco’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Ryad Mezzour, said his country has “an amazing opportunity [to learn] from one of the most innovative countries in the world to show us the way.”

The MOUs comes 18 months after the signing of the Abraham Accords.
