🌟 Board Member Spotlight: Meet Pradip!

Today, we're pleased to introduce Pradip, VP of Membership for PMI Regina / South Saskatchewan!

Currently working as a Senior Services Manager in the utility industry, Pradip brings valuable experience from a career that began in software development and progressed through team leadership, project management, and other leadership roles.

For Pradip, one of the most important skills in project management is communication, especially active listening. His advice to those starting their careers is simple: Trust your team, but validate often.

Being part of PMI Regina / South Saskatchewan gives him the opportunity to stay engaged, give back to the community, and collaborate with talented and energetic leaders.

A few things about Pradip beyond project management:

Celebrating Our Volunteers! 💜

On Friday, October 9, PMI Regina / South Saskatchewan Chapter hosted its Volunteer Appreciation Day 2026, an evening dedicated to recognizing the time, dedication, and contributions of the volunteers who help our chapter thrive.

This time, we stepped away from the usual conference rooms and formal events to enjoy a more relaxed evening of connection and appreciation.

From billiards, games, wings, snacks, and refreshments to a magic show, volunteer recognition certificates, and small gifts, the evening gave everyone an opportunity to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy conversations beyond our usual chapter activities.

A special thank you to Md Alamgir Hossain, our Director of Volunteers, for coordinating the event, and to everyone who contributed to making the evening possible.

Most importantly, Thank you to our volunteers! Your commitment, generosity, and willingness to share your time and expertise are what make our chapter and project management community stronger.

The Labour Day long weekend is here, and Regina has plenty to explore! ☀️

Whether you’re spending the weekend with family, catching the excitement around the Labour Day Classic, or simply enjoying some well-deserved time to recharge, there are activities happening throughout the city.

The City of Regina has highlighted several places to explore this weekend, including the Saskatchewan Science Centre, Royal Saskatchewan Museum, RCMP Heritage Centre, Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame, Casino Regina, and Local Market, with special activities and experiences planned across the city.

A special thank you to the City of Regina | Municipal Government for keeping residents and visitors informed about what’s happening in our community.

Meet Jeff, VP of Strategic Planning for PMI Regina / South Saskatchewan.

With a career in project management that began when IT was still an emerging field, Jeff brings years of experience and perspective to our Board.

One lesson that has remained important throughout his career is that successful project management goes beyond technical expertise. Leadership, people skills, and effective communication are essential to delivering projects on time, on budget, and on scope.

His advice to professionals beginning their project management careers is simple: continue developing your technical knowledge, but never underestimate the importance of understanding people and communicating effectively.

For Jeff, being part of PMI Regina / South Saskatchewan is an opportunity to give back to the profession and contribute to our local project management community.

A few things to know about Jeff beyond project management:

🥃 His drink of choice is a single malt Scotch.
💬 His most valued productivity tool is effective communication.
📍 His ideal place to manage a project is Regina, short commute and no time zone challenges!

Meet the leader helping shape our project management community. 👋

Behind every successful chapter is a team of dedicated volunteers, and today, we're excited to introduce Eli, our Chapter President and an IT Consultant, whose passion for project management has been inspiring our community for years.

Eli's journey into project management began during the Y2K era, when he was asked to help launch a deregulated gas utility in Ontario by building its systems from the ground up. He loved the challenge... and never looked back.

When asked what every project manager should master, his answer goes beyond schedules and deliverables:

💡 "Understand the organization you're working in, not just the technical side, but who's who."

His advice for aspiring project managers? Learn the business. Understand what matters most to your stakeholders and how your project creates value.

For Eli, PMI Regina has been much more than a professional association. Since becoming a member in 2009/2010 and serving on the Board for nearly a decade, he's found a community that shares knowledge, supports one another, and helps project professionals grow. Being part of that journey is something he considers an honor.

Now for the fun part...

📊 Can't live without? Excel. Functional, reliable, and always ready to help.

🛸 Favorite way to unwind? A good Sci-Fi or Fantasy marathon—whether it's Star Trek, Star Wars, or The Lord of the Rings.

🌎 Dream project location? Anywhere the weather is nice. He'd simply follow the sun.

🥙 Fun fact: During COVID, he learned to make a pretty impressive Tabouleh and Baklava.

We're grateful for Eli's leadership, dedication, and the positive impact he continues to make on our chapter and the project management community across Saskatchewan.
