It’s official—our 2026–27 season is here!

Prairie Vocal Arts Collective’s inaugural season brings together Saskatchewan vocal artists for four unique events celebrating the incredible range of vocal music—from opera and art song to musical theatre and music created right here at home.

RESONANCE: A PRAIRIE VOCAL ARTS GALA

We’re kicking off our first season with an evening of opera, art song, musical theatre, and more, featuring an incredible lineup of Saskatchewan vocal artists.

November 12 | 7:00 PM | Bushwakker Brewpub
Think opera isn’t your thing? You might be surprised by how much you already know. Grab a pint and discover the opera hiding in plain sight. Free to attend, with tips for our performers welcome!

A PRAIRIE CABARET: BROADWAY EDITION
February 19 | 7:00 PM | Local Market
Journey through the decades of Broadway with beloved songs from musicals past and present, all in a relaxed cabaret setting.

FROM THIS SOIL: SASKATCHEWAN COMPOSERS IN CONCERT
May 16 | 3:00 PM | The Artesian
A celebration of music written right here at home, showcasing the work of Saskatchewan composers and the artists who bring it to life.

You are invited to a FREE recital by Paulina Salisbury, Soprano, winner of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Associations Young Artist Competition.

Date: Sunday, September 27, 2026
Time: 2:30pm
Location: University of Regina, Shubox Theatre
The CFMTA Young Artist Series is a national program of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers’ Associations. The competition provides young performers with an opportunity to showcase their talents and to find direction in their early musical careers and was started in Saskatoon in 1942 by Lyell Gustin, and it has since expanded to include concerts in cities across Canada.

Join us for an inspiring Reading Session featuring guest clinician Dr. Mark Ramsay! This is a great opportunity to experience new choral repertoire, discover music for your ensemble, and connect with other music educators, directors, and singers.
🎶 Music repertoire will include music for choirs for:
• Elementary
• High School
• Church
The UR Chamber Singers will serve as our session choir, but everyone is welcome to participate! Come ready to listen, sing along, share your thoughts, and discuss the music with Dr. Ramsay and fellow choral musicians.
And, of course, there will be snacks and light refreshments!

In 2025, Avery Guo was awarded first place in the Saskatchewan Concerto Competition, earning her orchestral debut with the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra! 🎹

She is celebrated for her passionate interpretations, emotional depth, and dynamic stage presence, which we now get to experience in Verve on March 20, 2027!

Our first place winners performed in this evening’s concert, concluding the 2026 Canada West Performing Arts Festival. Congratulations to Esther Zhu (piano), Sadie Gryba (classical voice), Kadence Trachuk (musical theatre), Line Linde (classical voice), Daniel Karjala (brass).
