Calling all Filmmakers!

Apply to the Telefilm Talent to Watch program to receive a Letter of Recommendation through the Industry Partner Stream from Sask Filmpool, PAVED Arts, the University of Regina Department of Film and ScreenSask.

To apply for a Letter of Recommendation from Sask Filmpool Cooperative you must be a member in good standing of Sask Filmpool Cooperative.

Holiday Break Notice! 🎄

The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative will be open until December 19, which is the last day to pick up any equipment rentals before the holidays.

Exciting News: Welcoming Josh Cosford as our Programming and Technical Coordinator!

Raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Josh is a graduate of the University of Regina’s Film Production program and a diploma recipient from the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology (OIART).

With a background spanning videography, sound, and post-production, Josh has collaborated with a range of companies and non-profits including the Regina International Film Festival, Passion2Action, and Guru Nanak Free Kitchen. His experience also extends to audio and production assistant work on numerous local independent films, where he continues to develop his craft in both storytelling and technical artistry.

In addition to his film work, Josh is a musician and audio engineer working out of Blue Door Recording in Regina, where he continues to produce and record a diverse range of projects.

THIS IS A CALL FOR ALL PROJECTS.

The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative is excited to announce a call for projects for our new Creation Assistance Program (CAP)!

Building on the legacy of our previous Filmpool Production Assistance Program, CAP supports independent artists and filmmakers in the development and production of creative projects.

This round of applications focuses on production support only, offering 75% off the cost of our production gear.

CAP is aimed at supporting artists by continuing to champion Saskatchewan’s creative community.

The application deadline is November 30th, 2025.

🎬 We’re Reopening! 🎬

The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative is thrilled to officially reopen for equipment access starting Tuesday, August 19th!

A huge thank you to our members and the community for your patience since our temporary closure last October. As shared at our AGM, the Filmpool’s finances are strong, and we’ve used this time to focus and strengthen our operations—so we can keep doing what we do best: supporting independent filmmakers.

Your trust and support mean the world to us. 💙

Exciting News: Welcoming Joel Tabak as our Technical Director!

Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Joel has had a lifelong passion for film andfilmmaking, which led to him joining the University of Regina's Film program in 2017, where hedeveloped skills in both digital and analog filmmaking techniques. He has worked professionally
in the film industry for seven years, having experience as a camera operator, editor and 1stAC. He has worked on a variety of projects that includes corporate video, commercials anddocumentaries (Including Citytv Saskatchewan's Flat out Food). He is excited to be a part of theFilmpool!

Following a competitive process for the Technical Director position which receive applicantsfrom Vancouver to Montreal,Shari Hildred, Executive Director, shared,

“I am just thrilled to welcome Joel Tabak to the Filmpool team in the role of Technical Director!Joel brings several years of practical industry experience and most importantly shares theFilmpool’s commitment to experimental and independent filmmaking. His skills and filmexperience are incredible assets, however it is his energy and passion to support ourmembership and to support the Filmpool’s strategic direction going forward that makes Joel’ssuch an incredible addition to our team.”

As the Filmpool returns to regular capacity, Joel will be overseeing equipment rentals,interfacing with membership, planning programming and engaging with our community offilmmakers.
