This is your last call for a butterfly!

Friday, September 4th is the final day to purchase a butterfly marker for the 2026 Silent Hearts Walk.

Each butterfly will be placed along our walk route in memory of a baby who is loved, missed, and forever remembered. Whether you’re honouring your own baby or a baby close to your heart, your butterfly will have a place among many others as we create a beautiful space of remembrance.

You do not need to register for the walk or attend the event to purchase a butterfly. Anyone can purchase one in memory of a baby they love.

Today, we’re thinking about the fathers who are grieving too.

The dads who are expected to be strong.
The dads who comfort everyone else while quietly breaking inside.

The dads whose loss may be overlooked because they didn’t carry the pregnancy, but who lost their child, their hopes, their dreams and their future, too.

A father’s grief deserves space. A father deserves support.

To every bereaved dad: you don't have to be strong every minute. You are allowed to grieve, to remember, to cry, and to miss your baby.

Today, and every day, we see you.

We’re almost one-third of the way there!
Our 2026 Silent Hearts Walk fundraising goal is $10,000, and thanks to our incredible community, we’ve raised $2,915 so far!

That’s nearly 30% of our goal and every dollar helps us continue supporting families impacted by perinatal loss.

Whether you’re honouring a name, a memory, or simply a little life who changed your world, these butterflies create a beautiful visual reminder that every baby matters and every story deserves to be remembered.

We are so grateful to Aleah for sending Twinkle Star a copy of Still Your Heart Will Grow. This beautiful book is a gentle and heartfelt resource for families navigating pregnancy and infant loss, and we’re honoured to have it as part of our collection.

We’re especially grateful to have had the opportunity to read it ourselves and to now be able to share it with families in our community.

We’re so grateful to Carla Shafer for sending Twinkle Star these beautiful books, The Sad Book and The Mad Book.

These books gently explore two very real emotions that can come with grief, giving children simple language and relatable illustrations to help them understand and express what they’re feeling.

Not everyone calls their baby a “rainbow baby” and that’s okay.

For some, the term brings comfort and hope. For others, it doesn’t feel right, or their baby’s story simply doesn’t fit within that word.
There is no right way to describe the baby who comes after loss.

Use the words that feel right for you. Your story, your baby and your feelings are yours to name.

Not every storm ends with a rainbow.

For some parents, the rain never completely stops. Some rainbow babies don’t get to stay, and some parents never get to bring their rainbow home.

Today, we remember that loss doesn’t disappear simply because another pregnancy or baby follows.

There is room for the complicated grief, the love that remains, and the babies who are forever missed.
