Twinkle Star Project

Twinkle Star Project Remembering babies gone too soon. Our vision and mission is to provide pregnancy support to families facing pregnancy loss in Saskatchewan.

The Twinkle Star Project was created in memory of Baby Sebastian, who was born still to his mother, Jennifer Lea, in December of 2016. Leaving the hospital with empty arms and a broken heart, Jen knew she’d find a way to transform her love for Seb into a project that would both give back to the community and help raise pregnancy loss awareness. Since the creation of the Twinkle Star Project in the

Spring of 2017, our volunteer-run team has grown to include four more women, each of whom provides their own invaluable skill-set and motivation for getting involved. We have an immediate goal of providing our local hospitals in Regina, Saskatchewan, with handmade baby baskets and other mementos honouring babies lost in the first and second trimester, while raising awareness around pregnancy loss, beginning in Summer 2017. While the immediate goal is to reach families in Regina, Saskatchewan, we have high hopes of expanding beyond our southern Prairie community to reach other areas in need. Currently, we have incorporated charity status, with plans to become a registered charitable organization in the near future. Please like our page for updates on all of our ventures and follow along for more information on the incredible things that we are doing to honour babies gone too soon. This is your last call for a butterfly!

Friday, September 4th is the final day to purchase a butterfly marker for the 2026 Silent Hearts Walk.

Each butterfly will be placed along our walk route in memory of a baby who is loved, missed, and forever remembered. Whether you’re honouring your own baby or a baby close to your heart, your butterfly will have a place among many others as we create a beautiful space of remembrance.

You do not need to register for the walk or attend the event to purchase a butterfly. Anyone can purchase one in memory of a baby they love.

Butterfly markers: $25
Sales close Friday, September 4th

Butterflies will be displayed at the Silent Hearts Walk on September 19th in Regina.

Today, we’re thinking about the fathers who are grieving too.

The dads who are expected to be strong.
The dads who comfort everyone else while quietly breaking inside.

The dads whose loss may be overlooked because they didn’t carry the pregnancy, but who lost their child, their hopes, their dreams and their future, too.

A father’s grief deserves space. A father deserves support.

To every bereaved dad: you don't have to be strong every minute. You are allowed to grieve, to remember, to cry, and to miss your baby.

Today, and every day, we see you.

Today, we remember the dads who carry love, grief, and memories for babies who couldn’t stay.

To the fathers whose arms are empty but whose hearts are full, we see you, we remember your babies, and we honour your grief.

Thinking of all the dads who carry a different kind of love this Bereaved Father’s Day.

We still have a ways to go, but we’re taking it one step at a time.

Help us reach $10,000!

We’re so grateful to Carla Shafer for sending Twinkle Star these beautiful books, The Sad Book and The Mad Book.

These books gently explore two very real emotions that can come with grief, giving children simple language and relatable illustrations to help them understand and express what they’re feeling.

Thank you, Carla, for creating and sharing these meaningful resources with us.

You’ll also be able to find The Sad Book and The Mad Book on our website in the coming weeks.

Not everyone calls their baby a “rainbow baby” and that’s okay.

For some, the term brings comfort and hope. For others, it doesn’t feel right, or their baby’s story simply doesn’t fit within that word.
There is no right way to describe the baby who comes after loss.

Use the words that feel right for you. Your story, your baby and your feelings are yours to name.

Not every storm ends with a rainbow.

For some parents, the rain never completely stops. Some rainbow babies don’t get to stay, and some parents never get to bring their rainbow home.

Today, we remember that loss doesn’t disappear simply because another pregnancy or baby follows.

There is room for the complicated grief, the love that remains, and the babies who are forever missed.
