The Annoucement of Antonio’s passing is below.
With broken hearts, we share that our beloved Dad, Antonio Carpino, passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Our world has shifted, and our hearts are broken. Yet even in this grief, there is comfort in knowing Dad’s final moments were gentle, wrapped in the same love he gave so freely to all of us.
Dad endured far more over these past ten months than anyone ever should, but he faced every hurdle with a strength that humbled us. After spending 99 days in the hospital starting last December, he fought his way back home, where he was cared for with the deep devotion he always showed us. When a severe fall brought him back to the hospital in late July, he fought courageously through another long stay. Last week, as his body grew tired, Dad took his final breath, held, loved, and never alone.
While losing him hurts deeply, we find peace knowing his suffering is over. Dad lived entirely for his family. Every sacrifice, every effort, and every joy was rooted in his generous heart.
He was fiercely devoted to his beautiful wife, Flora—the woman he chose every day for sixty extraordinary years. On September 10th, they celebrated 60 years of partnership, laughter, resilience, and unwavering devotion. We had hoped to see Dad dancing with Mom on his upcoming 80th birthday. While we won't see that dance here, we can picture it somewhere beyond this life: Dad moving freely again, Mom forever in his heart, reunited with his grandson Diego.
Dad leaves behind his beloved wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchild, sister, nephew, and many cousins.
Dad’s definition of family extended well beyond bloodlines. He created an enormous network of connections spanning Canada, Italy, the United States, Argentina, and beyond. He had a rare passion for finding family, building ties across oceans and generations, and keeping those bonds alive with immense pride and affection.
Dad simply had a way with people. He made you feel welcome, made you laugh, and had a smile that lit up any room. He formed lifelong friendships and touched countless lives just by being himself.
We choose not to anchor our memories to hospital rooms or the difficult months he endured. Instead, we choose to remember his laugh, his stories, his fierce devotion to Mom, his pride in his kids and grandkids, his deep roots, and the way he made everyone feel like they mattered.
Our family is forever changed, but we are profoundly grateful—for his love, his stories, the laughter, and the rich legacy he leaves behind.
Dad’s 80th birthday will now be a celebration of his remarkable life.
