Speaker Announcement | Ann Holmes

We’re excited to announce that Ann Holmes will be joining us as a speaker at the First Annual CSM Fundraising Gala on November 7th, 2026.

Ann brings decades of experience as an instructor, coach, coach educator, athlete, and mental performance consultant, with a career that has spanned gymnastics, curling, golf, kinesiology, and athlete development.

She started coaching gymnastics in her hometown at an after-school program and then kept coaching through her Physical Education degree at the University of Alberta. At the same time, she was a competitive curler and went on to become an NCCP curling coach as she was doing her master’s degree at UBC in Human Kinetics.

As a grad student, she played competitive varsity golf with the UBC Women’s Team and then turned pro, joining the PGA of Canada. She later became the Head Coach for UBC, and in 2000 the Women’s Golf Team earned a silver medal at the NAIA National Championships. That same summer, many of her athletes qualified for the World University Golf Championships, and she was named as the Head Coach. In 2001, the team went back to the NAIA Championships in Kentucky and won the gold medal, and Ann won Coach of the Year. In 2021, she was inducted into the UBC Sports Hall of Fame.

Since leaving Vancouver in 2002, Ann has been teaching Kinesiology at the College of New Caledonia. On the side, she works as a mental performance consultant, an NCCP coach educator, fitness professional and holistic nutritionist. In 2013, she joined the Prince George Golf & Curling Club to run the Junior Golf Program. She retired in 2025 after coaching countless clinics and golfers of all ages & levels, but still continues to work on her own game and help out in golf where she can.
We’re honoured to have Ann join us and share her experience with our guests at the Gala.

Speaker Announcement | Simon-Pierre Lamarche

We’re excited to announce that Simon-Pierre Lamarche will be joining us as a speaker at the First Annual CSM Fundraising Gala on November 7th, 2026.
Simon-Pierre Lamarche is a high-performance sport scientist and coach with fourteen years of combined experience as a kinesiologist, certified strength and conditioning specialist, and cross-country skiing coach. As Director of High-Performance at Engage Sport North , he builds performance pathways for athletes in northern British Columbia — a region where access to elite sport science has traditionally been scarce — supporting athletes across a range of sports up to the World Cup level.

His work sits at the intersection of applied physiology and day-to-day coaching. He delivers physiological testing including lactate, VO₂max, critical speed, and strength profiling, then translates that data into periodized training plans, monitoring systems, and hands-on session delivery. Beyond the athletes themselves, he develops and mentors coaches, designs distance-education for the northern context, and brings quality programming into schools and communities.
Simon holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa and is completing a UBC Master's in High-Performance Coaching and Technical Leadership. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), holds CSEP's High-Performance Specialization, and is a registered kinesiologist with the BCAK.

His commitment to high performance extends to the field of play: he has guided visually-impaired athletes on Canada's National Para team at World Cups and World Championships in Canada and abroad. Throughout, his approach treats performance not as numbers alone, but as the development of whole athletes.
We’re looking forward to having Simon-Pierre join us and share his experience with our guests at the Gala.

CSM Athlete Grants | Helping Northern BC Athletes Go Further

The Chad Staley Memorial Foundation Athlete Grant Program was created to help reduce the financial and geographic barriers that can make it difficult for Northern BC athletes to pursue opportunities in sport.

Individual athlete grants range from $250 to $2,000 and can help offset costs associated with things like:

- Travel and competition expenses
- Training and development opportunities
- Equipment and sport-related costs
- Specialized coaching and programming
- Other expenses that help athletes continue progressing in their sport

The goal is not simply to fund a single event or season. It is to help athletes access opportunities that may otherwise be difficult to reach because of where they live or the costs involved.

Whether an athlete is competing locally, travelling across Canada, pursuing post-secondary athletics, or working toward the next level of their sport, CSM wants to help more Northern BC athletes continue moving forward.

We are proud to have already supported athletes from across the region and look forward to creating even more opportunities in the years ahead.

Speaker Announcement - Evan Bichon

For our first speaker announcement, we’re excited to announce that Evan Bichon will be joining us as a speaker at the First Annual CSM Fundraising Gala this November 7th, 2026.

Originally from Mackenzie, BC, Evan has taken his snowboard cross career from the slopes of Northern British Columbia all the way to the world stage. A two-time Canadian national champion, Evan won gold at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George and earned a bronze medal at the Mt. St. Anne World Cup. He also represented Canada at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, where he made his Olympic debut in snowboard cross.

His journey is one built on years of dedication, perseverance, and a commitment to pursuing opportunities at the highest level of sport - all while remaining connected to the Northern BC community where it began.

That connection was celebrated this summer when the chalet at Little Mac Ski Hill in Mackenzie was officially renamed the Evan Bichon Ski Chalet in recognition of his accomplishments and the inspiration his journey continues to provide to young athletes.

We’re honoured to have Evan join us and share his story with our guests at the Gala.

Saturday, November 7, 2026
Prince George Civic Centre

Don’t miss your chance to be part of the evening and hear Evan’s story firsthand.
