Today, UNBC celebrates its Indigenous Student Welcome as part of Fall 2026 Welcome activities in Prince George.

To First Nations, Métis and Inuit students beginning a new academic journey, returning for another year, or finding their way in a new community: welcome!

Post-secondary education is about more than classes. It is about building relationships, discovering opportunities, finding community and creating your own path forward.

We wish Indigenous students at UNBC and throughout Northern BC a successful and rewarding year ahead. 🌿

🏃‍♀️🏃 INDIGENOUS YOUTH SPORTS OPPORTUNITY!
Looking for an opportunity to get a young athlete moving, building confidence and developing their skills?
Engage Sport North offers All Nations Athlete opportunities through its VIM and VIGOUR Athlete Development programs right here in Prince George.
🏋️ VIM: Ages 10–13
💪 VIGOUR: Ages 14–18
📍 Northern Sport Centre, Prince George
Programs focus on movement, strength, physical literacy and developing young athletes in a positive training environment.
Indigenous athletes can access the All Nations Athlete registration pathway when registering.

Today, PGUAJS | Northern Indigenous Justice Centre (NIJC) was honoured to participate in the July Fire Pit Gathering, spending the day connecting with community members, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, partner organizations, and families in the heart of downtown Prince George.

Every conversation matters. Whether we were sharing resources, answering questions, or simply taking time to listen, each interaction strengthened the relationships that make our community resilient.

At PGUAJS | NIJC, we believe justice is about more than responding to challenges. It is about creating opportunities for healing, restoring relationships, empowering families, and ensuring culturally grounded supports are available before, during, and beyond involvement with the justice system.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared a story, asked a question, or simply said hello. It was an honour to stand alongside so many incredible community partners dedicated to making Prince George stronger, healthier, and more connected.

Together, we continue walking alongside Indigenous peoples and communities, building pathways to healing, hope, and lasting change.

• Drop-off: 3:30–4:00 p.m.
• Pick-up: 7:30–7:45 p.m.
• Location: PGUAJS / NIJC, #102 – 1268 5th Avenue
• Limited space: 15 participants per day
