New Partnership Announcement: Friends of Children & Airbnb.org

We’re excited to announce a new partnership between Friends of Children and Airbnb.org, helping families who must travel for their child’s medical care access comfortable accommodations.

Through a generous $15,000 USD contribution from .org we can now offer families the option to stay in a home located near their child’s medical appointments.

These stays can be up to 28 days, giving families more flexibility, stability, and comfort during a challenging time.

Airbnb.org is a global nonprofit that provides free emergency housing to people affected by disasters, illnesses, or other times of crisis.

Prince George, B.C. – PG Community Foundation (PGCF) and Beem Credit Union (Beem) are proud to announce the recipients of the 2025 Spruce Credit Union Legacy Grants, awarding $46,000 to seven local organizations delivering essential programs and improvements that strengthen community connection, access, and well-being.

We were thrilled to be granted $9000- Nourishment & Wellness Support
To deliver food, wellness, and essential supports for children and families facing complex challenges, helping reduce barriers to stability and with food prices going up this is so timely and will help a lot of families!


Established by Spruce Credit Union (now Beem Credit Union), this endowed fund and grant program supports projects that respond to emerging community needs while creating lasting, positive impact. This year’s grants focus on food security, support for children and seniors, neighbourhood revitalization, skills development, and accessibility improvements.

“Through the Spruce Credit Union Legacy Grant, we are able to support organizations doing meaningful, hands-on work in our community,” said Brian Harris, CEO of Beem Credit Union.

Families traveling to receive medical care in northern B.C. now have a new option for support, with the opening of a Ronald McDonald House family room in Prince George. The charity will provide free stays for families of children in the hospital, and will serve some of the most rural communities in....
