United Way BC - North We strengthen vital connections that support people in need in our local communities.

Locally driven and regionally governed, the United Way of Northern British Columbia is dedicated to improving the quality of life by advancing the common good... when we reach out a hand to one we influence the condition of all. We all benefit when a child succeeds, when families are financially stable, seniors are involved in community activities, and when people are healthy and safe.

Food is more than a meal. It can bring nourishment, connection, and a sense of community.

This World Food Day, we’re shining a light on food security for seniors across BC. Depending on what’s available in their community, seniors may access supports such as groceries, prepared meals, food delivery, food hampers, and community meals.

Your support can help strengthen food security and connection for seniors across BC.

Thanksgiving is a time to gather, share a meal, and feel connected to community.

But accessing nutritious food isn’t always easy for seniors in BC. Community food programs can help by providing supports such as groceries, prepared meals, food delivery, food hampers, and community meals.

This Thanksgiving, help put nutritious food within reach for seniors in our communities.

Communities across British Columbia did not simply respond to hunger last year. Working through United Way BC Food Security Initiatives, they tackled this complex issue by focusing on strengthening connection, belonging, and resilience for those in need.

Thanks to these efforts, almost 450,000 individuals were supported.

Thank you, Prince George!

Thursday morning we joined community leaders, partners, donors and supporters to celebrate United Way BC Day and officially kick off our 2026 campaign!

We heard inspiring conversations from our panelists about the importance of working together to build a healthier community for all, and the launch of United Way BC’s Future Leaders program in Prince George, empowering young people for the jobs of tomorrow. ❤️
