On behalf of the Prince George Métis Community Association Board of Directors and PGMCA Education Committee, we want to share our deepest gratitude for everyone who helped make the 2026 Métis Graduation activities so meaningful.
To our Elders, thank you for leading the sashing ceremonies, offering teachings, and creating beautiful handcrafted keychains through the beading circle. Your guidance, knowledge, and artistry brought heart and spirit to every celebration.
To our community volunteers, thank you for the many hours you spent preparing cultural gifts, organizing items, and assembling gift bags with such care. Your dedication ensured every graduate received something made with pride and intention.
We also extend our appreciation to our education partners: the Indigenous Education Department at School District No. 57, the school‑based Indigenous Education Workers, and the Indigenous Relations Team at UNBC. Your support made it possible to honour graduates in culturally welcoming spaces at each highschool and on campus.
With gratitude, we acknowledge Métis Nation Britsh Columbia and the City of Prince George, whose grant and sponsorship contributions directly supported our graduation activities, including sashing ceremonies and cultural gifts. Your partnership helped us celebrate Métis learners and strengthen their connection to culture and community.
Together, all of you helped ensure every graduate felt seen, valued, and celebrated. Thank you for lifting up Métis youth and for standing with us to honour their hard work and achievements.
